Wild Card: Forget about it

Dead Simmons
Unfortunately if we end up in a 2 way tie with the Rockies they will host the game.

Reason being the tiebreaker will be games within the division since we are tied with them head to head. Which seems totally dumb to me. We don't even play in the same division, so how is their division record relevant to ours in any way in terms of a tiebreaker?

The result would be the same if it went by league record but at least I would understand it then.

Rockies beat the Brewers 4-3 in the season series, that's why they would host a playoff game for WC2.

The Cardinals/Cubs games does not mean a ton to the WC chase from the Brewers' perspective unless we are rooting for the Cards to miss.

The Rockies are going to have to go something like 1-4 or 0-5 for it to matter from the Brewers' perspective and we play the Cards in the final series.

It's something to consider given that it's still in the realm of possibility that the Rockies completely flame out and the Brewers go 4-2 while the Cards go 5-1 (in which case, 1 game for last spot), but we likely need to worry about the Rockies and only the Rockies.

Why do we need the Rockies to flame out? They go 2-3 and the Brewers go 4-2 and we have a one game playoff. Is it likely? Not really. But it's certainly realistic for the Brewers to win 2 series and have the Rockies split the remaining two with Miami and go 1-2 vs LAD

I've been saying since mid-August that I think we need 88 wins to make it into the post season. 88 wins would be 6-0, and that very likely gets us in. Anything short of that could be trouble. I think we should be focused on one day at a time, that's all we can do. Today we have a great chance to win with the pitching matchup, and the Rockies face the Marlins best pitcher. The marlins have also won 5 of their last 7 games. Very real chance to pick up another game tonight.

Almost sure it was the Marlins who beat the Mets on the last weekend and game in 2008 to get us in the WC. Hope they keep doing good work for us the next couple days in return for the good treatment we gave them in MKE during the hurricane, #karma

Wes Helms and Dan Uggla homered.

I'll never forget the guy running through the 4th level concourse yelling "Wes Helms!" And high fiving everyone.

Well guys it looks like the Rockies remembered how to win a ball game at the same time we did. Looks bad.

They are 4-6 over their last 10. If the Brewers (or Cardinals) do their job of winning out, it'll be a very interesting finish.

But most likely we go 2-1 one way or the other in our last series and cancel each other out. Ironic.

I'd say it's fairly likely the Rockies do no better than 1-2 against the Dodgers, things could still get very interesting.

Games are in Colorado and L.A. has a lot less to play for. I think it's totally possible Colorado goes no better than 1-2 but I wouldn't go as far as to call it likely.

Nope, still games to be played. We have sweeped teams this year and the Dodgers sure have and the Rockies probably have been swept. So why can't they happen right now? Never know. Still very much alive, but need a whole lot of help.

The chances are incredibly slim, but they sure are better than they were Game 1 of the year so anything can happen.

We sweep the Cards and the Dodgers win at least 2 of 3. It can be done. Go Brewers!

Whatever happens, it's great that we're going into the final series with a chance at the playoffs. Who would have thought that possible before the season began?
