Would like them to try:

Arcia SS

Walker 2B

Braun LF

Shaw 3B

Santana RF

Aguilar 1B

Pina C

Phillips CF

Woodruff P

I just don't know why some want to continue to put him here. He's not a great candidate for a leadoff role. While he would be an upgrade over lets say, Perez... that is not saying much. His OBP is .319 on the season and just a tad over .300 for his short career. He needs to evolve still and that's not saying he won't but he is just not a lead off hitter yet. Giving more at bats to mediocre hitters. Makes no sense.

Phillips would be fine to start out there even if it is a lefty. It is not like we are getting much out of our CF position anyways so see if he can get hot for 20 games.

vs. Lefty: 2017- (OBP/OPS)

Santana- RF (.381/.872)

Perez- 2B (.371/.877)

Braun- LF (.361/.840)

Shaw- 3B (.317/.787) **Move down a spot?

Aguilar- 1B (.374/.896) **Move up a spot?

Pina- C (.356/.758)

Phillips- CF (.385/.983) **Col Springs stats

Arica- SS (.336/.663)

*If not Perez, I would do Villar and hope he's hot. Walker has struggled vs. LHP good pinch hitter to have late in game.

*Perez is 0-8 lifetime against Brault and Broxtons is 3 for 4 with three doubles so maybe my lineup could include Broxton in CF and Walker (0 for 0) or Villar (1 for 5 with a double) at 2B.

Hard to be hot when you've been benched the last 4 games...

Let's see what the Crew will do tonight. Hitting machine against the Cubs or leaving RISP against the Reds. Might be a little of both against the Pirates. And a win by Woodruff would be a good thing. Go Brewers!

Brewers e-mail sent to my inbox:

"The Brewers are right where they want to be."

Well, no, they'd much rather be 2 games up, than 2 games down. Or 10 games up. Or have clinched their division already.

Just a pet peeve.

Well considering our great history, maybe the email has more merit than you're giving it. :laughing

Remember when we had a lead off hitter, Molitor. Don't understand why we don't call up Wren and put a spark in line up.

We can't call him up because he's not on the 40 man, and we will need Nelson's vacant spot for another pitcher.

Anyway, Wren's numbers really aren't that impressive considering the environment. .364 on base percentages grow on trees in Colorado Springs.
