@Brew4U:

I get your perspective but I think you need to understand the frustration some of us feel in the game thread. Game threads are typically reactionary and are prone to huge emotional swings. I am very much invested in this Brewer team and to see them stink as bad as they have in this series only leads to significant frustration and wild emotions. I love this team but am so angry with them the past three days I wonder why I invest so much in them and begin to hate everything Brewers. What happens next? I am back watching and hopeful the very next day.

I guess the point is we all love the Brewers and seeing them blow a shot at the playoffs is exceptionally frustrating but we all handle it differently.

I completely get it. I'm one of the worst at times. But it would be great if we had some people on these boards be leaders (and I'm not calling out the mods, just people in general) and not let this stuff keep rearing it's ugly head. Like I tried to put earlier was that had Adam just said Garza sucks, yada yada yada... none story. But how he wrote his post (and I've done it too) just creates bickering and dislike for one another. It just doesn't need to happen. These forums are awesome but we can actually make them better if we so choose to.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Definitely agree with you there. Just not wanting to take all of our frustrations on this horrible series out on each other and create animosity. I am beyond angry with this team and had every intention of coming on here and ripping everything but thought what good would that do. So frustrated but not looking to pick a fight with a fellow poster.

You could start by not being condescending and telling me to grow up, when all I was doing is clearly expressing an opinion in a certain way that the excuses for Garza get tiresome. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it's not valid. I don't know why it's up to you to decide whether saying 'Garza sucks' or what I did is the correct way to express it.

And I know I've been guilty of being condescending too and I know I need to try to work on that here.

Why is one of our best relievers being used in mop up duty when we have all this extra relievers? Just...why?? Counsell has just baffled me this series with his decision making.

It's not like Hader has been needing extra work lately.

I can only presume that Counsell, unlike myself, still thinks we have a chance to come back and win the game. Even with that in mind, I don't think Hader would be in there without an off day tomorrow.

I mean, he's thrown 2 innings in the past 10 days, and given up 2 game-losing HRs. Maybe it's an attempt to get him some confidence.

I know, yesterday we concede down by 1 and throw Barnes/Wang/Torres out there. Today, down by 5, we decided to go for it using better pitchers.

If you see nothing wrong with how you wrote your post, the problems will continue around here. That's what the "Learn. Evolve. Grow up" was all about. It wasn't condescending, it was a slogan for how we should all approach these message boards. People acting as if their poop don't stink and know it all's is the reason for why participation on these boards is low. Like I said, we can do better but it has to start somewhere. I guess I'm just tired of people just being flat out jerks to each other.

Where has Guerra been? Could've swore [sic] he was called up.

guerra spoiled the shutout sunday by surrendering a two run homer in the victory against the nationals.

This makes sense because I was at the game and left after they batted in the 8th to get on the road. No wonder I do not recall him pitching.

This is what I was thinking. Let him get some success again. Couple that with having an off day tomorrow and it makes a bit of sense.

I agree that CC is being a bonehead in this series but I'm not sure how much it matters. I mean, one run. One stinking run again. Amazes me how this team has just fallen off the map offensively.

This team has went from scoring a ton of runs in the first three innings of the game and holding on for a wild ride to just completely not scoring and sucking.

The Reds starters have been very good this series but the Crew just haven't hit with men aboard.

Without clutch hitting and pitching this team doesn't sniff the playoffs and they had better get going or we will just have to be happy with how they played in the first half of the year.

Although it doesn't 100% apply, a good friend of mine once said, "defense doesn't matter when you can't score a run."

Now the supposed Red killer Thames strikes out swinging with a roar from the crowd (I guess you can call it a crowd). Yesterday had only 12,000 plus for attendance. I thought Tampa fans were the only ones who didn't care.

Ok, I've been at work and just got back and I've been itching to say this for the past two hours.

Garza is straight gutter trash. What a turd. I've been one of his biggest defenders over the years but after today I just can't do it anymore. Garza doesn't deserve to throw another pitch in a Brewers uniform. NOT ONE! I wouldn't even let him on the plane to Chicago later on. DFA him. Hell, just release him outright.

And Counsell deserves to share the blame today. If ever there was a must win game up to this point of the season, it was today. And he trots out Garza for this game? I know their thinking was don't let him pitch in the Cubs series but in reality he shouldn't pitch against anybody anymore. Done with him.

Has to be the most frustrating series of the year.

I'll continue to root and hope maybe everything starts clicking against the Cubs and they sweep and are right back in it. But if I'm honest with myself I don't see this as a top 5 NL team at the end of this month.
