Yeah and there have been quite a few where the offense does nothing after the first couple innings and the bullpen holds a one run lead for 2 or 3 innings.

 

Make no mistake, this is an above average rotation and bullpen and a below average offense this season.

Just to further drive home the point of how bad MLB umpires are and how much they are influencing games: Gerardo Parra just walked on 4 pitches to load the bases for the Rockies in a 1 out, tie game in the 9th. 3 of the 4 pitches were in the strike zone.

And like bases loaded walks haven't been enough for just us today, the Rockies win on a walkoff walk.

 

Look where Ball 1 is. This is ok to some people. 2 balls to Parra were just as much in the strike zone. No one can get guys out if you have to throw right down the middle to get calls. These guys are influencing games and playoff races. It's not ok.

If he's hurt, Cubs have absolutely no chance in the playoffs.

Plus Baez it at minimum day to day with an injured thumb and issues with his head/neck after that sliding collision in yesterday's game. Cubs without an offday until after the Brewers series - appears this stretch of 20 games in 20 days may be a tough grind on them.

 

Too bad the crew couldn't pull today's game off to get a game closer...

I hope all of you pessimists take a few innings off or have stopped watching in order to quit "wasting" your Labor Day.

 

Heaven forbid people go spend some time with their families or outside on one of the few beautiful Wisconsin days left this year.
