Hader. Shutting up the haters. Unreal talent.

He has haters?

Plenty. Many doubters.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Shaw twice and Aguilar. Man, could this game have been blown open. So close.

People doubt his ability to go through a lineup multiple times while maintaining control of the two pitches he has and the need for a third. That's not hating.

I don't know anyone that doubts his bullpen ability. Actually...no one.

Sure. Agree to disagree. Seen the comments.

Was going to post that exact same thing... Doubting someone's ability to be a starter is not even close to hating on someone. He has his doubters for the rotation, but I don't know anyone who doubts his stuff.

You must have missed all the posts saying "he doesn't throw enough strikes" and "ignore the ERA, he hasn't been very good."

Exactly.

Feel free to find them. If we are referring to when he first came up it was definitely justified. His control was all over the place(really really bad) and didn't deserve big innings. Just because he is doing better now doesn't erase the fact how eratic he was before and how his results were lucky to an extent.

No need. It's why I said agree to disagree. You can go find them if it'll make you feel better though.

Your point? It was factual comments then and it was backed up by statistics. Today he threw 12 pitches for 11 strikes. So he has found out how to throw strikes and is doing better. How does that make the comments a few months ago hating when they were right?

Knebel's stuff seems extra filthy when he's getting regular work. it's when he gets long layoffs that he seems to struggle with command.

Great job by him, Hader and Nelson. Hopefully the offense will be interested in participating this weekend.

I'd hardly call that "hate".

Nelson looked a bit off in the early innings with his fastball. But when you can throw curves for strikes like that, does it matter?

That Hader inning though... wow. He had decided that noone was getting a hit off him, and you could feel it from the first pitch. Could have left him in with how he was pitching and with that pitch count. But with someone like Knebel, and with someone who crushes LHP like Zimmerman does I get why you'd make the change, even if I probably wouldn't have. Knebel impressive as ever.

Man do I miss Manny Piña though, against someone like Turner. A good defensive catcher to back up Piña could be something to look for in the offseason; not the highest priority, but if the opportunity presents itself.

Sucks for Roark to lose like that, absolutely no help from his offense after pitching such a good game.

The Brewers were so close to putting up a touchdown in this game. Many, many close calls for the Nationals.

Don't you dare feel sorry for Roark! :tongue
