Getting game #2 is big. Leaves you with only having to win 1 of 2 to win the series. Let's go Jimmy. Continue on your ace-like ways!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I would love to see:

Villar- CF

Walker- 2B

Braun- LF

Shaw- 3B

Santana- RF

Thames/Aguilar- 1B

Pina/Vogt- C

Arcia- SS

Bring Broxton, Phillips or Perez in later in the game once we have a 1-3 run lead.

Loading that lineup with lefties. I like giving Pina an additional day off against a righty... especially if Vogt is seeing the ball well. Curious why Sogard/Villar instead of Villar/Phillips if Phillips is available..

I'm guess because Villar and Sogard are smoking hot right now and Phillips hasn't proven a lick to be handed a spot in the lineup in the pennant race.

Sogard had 10 hits in August.

.944 OPS in last 7 days

.928 OPS in last 14 days

He's heated up along with Villar who is well over 1.000 in that same time frame. Kudos to Counsell for getting them in the lineup and hopefully putting some runs on the board.

Sogard needs to catch that ball.

[sarcasm]Yes, that was clearly Sogard's fault.[/sarcasm]

The error is Vogt's, but that's a ball that a middle schooler would catch. Sogard took his eyes off it even though with that crappy of a throw there wasn't going to be a play at the base. Catch the ball and the runner doesn't advance; but, inning over anyway.
