Moreover, the Brewers have a stretch coming up where 12 of 15 games are against the Reds, Pirates, Marlins.

That said, the Brewers have 30 games remaining. To make the playoffs, I'll bet they need to go 22-8 or so.

Marlins have been playing good ball lately...

Also, 22 wins puts us at 90 wins for the season. Do you think it will take 90 to make the playoffs? That seems high to me. Not saying you are wrong, just curious about your thoughts on that one.

The Cubs seem to be coming alive at the right time.

Moreover, their remaining schedule is pretty light. They have 31 remaining games. 15 are against the Braves, Pirates, Mets, Rays, and Reds.

I'd put the over under on their win total at about 20. That would give them 91 wins.

As for the wild card. I don't think we catch Arizona, we are 6 back of them and they just got Robbie Ray back and they are playing really well.

Maybe the Rockies go in the toilet as they have tons of games remaining against LA and AZ.

I still think its takes about 88-91 games to make the playoffs.

Absolutely loving watching Hader this season. What a treat

Agreed. What potential that arm has.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Good call. I am surely hoping they dont go 20-11 to end the year. :)

I'm not watching live, but Gameday says Hader struck out Voit on a changeup and got a called strike to the next guy on a changeup. Can anyone watching live confirm? Nice to see him throw a couple good ones.

Yup. I especially liked the first changeup (Low outside to a RHH), after throwing a lot of fastballs inside, fastballs who come in across his body. That changeup with it's armside movement (Or perceived movement compared to the fastball) must be tough to deal with. Changeups were 81 and 84mph IIRC, compared to the 93-97 FB.

Outstanding. Nice to know he has it. I would like to think throwing it more consistently as a starter next year leads to him being absolutely filthy.

Yep. Unfortunately I think the best chance to make the playoffs is to beat the Cubs directly, or maybe catch the Rockies.

As I mentioned above, the Rockies have lots of games against LA and AZ remaining, so maybe they tank it the rest of the way. However, the Brewers do not play them head to head so the Brewers have zero control over how they finish.

Cubs just lost 2/3 to Philly. Now they've won 2 in a row. But every time this year it looks like hey're about to turn it on they've crashed right back down. After the ASB when we tanked and they had the hot streak it looked over. Then they went right back to being the mediocre team they've been all year. It's just as likely that continues.
