You would think having a manager who as a player with limited skills, who's best attributes involved him moving runners over bunting slapping the ball the other way doing what it takes to win, you would see a little more of that in this lineup.

There terrible at manufacturing runs and making productive outs.

I rather be a team like the BoSox who dont hit the HR and manufacture runs and win games then a HR reliant team.

How is Torres still on this roster? How. Just how.

Barnes, Torres, Hughes, Drake, Jeffress. Pick your poison.

None are reliable and Counsell has no choice but to use them from game to game.

Agreed at this point go with who has sucked less...Counsell kinda handcuffed..but Barnes shouldnt sniff a game when its tied or up one or down one.

Team becoming harder and harder to watch and enjoy.

I tried arguing with my friends earlier this year when they tried telling me the brewers will collapse in 2nd half like usual.

Taxes Death Brewers 2nd half collapse.

So stop watching.

We were shut out on Monday and have scored 1 run today and Barnes is the problem.......right.

The problem is bringing Barnes in close games. If Barnes is called upon i doubt he will decline to pitch.

No it's not......Barnes is the best option after Swarzak and Knoebel (Hader already used)

This is what we have......you can ***** about it or just understand it......

You can't pitch those other 2 guys every day. If we would have had the lead then they would have pitched the 8th and 9th.....they aren't going to be used in the 7th.

You can bash Counsell all you want, but who is he supposed to put in? No one is reliable besides Knebel and the new guy from the White Sox. Constantly here it's you can't put guy A in a close, you cna't put guy B, Guy C. He has to put someone in and has no good options.

For the comebacks. I know the late game stats. But remember during the hot streaks at the beginning of the year? They'd bound back all the time. It was the funnest part of that time of the year. They'd blow a 4-0 early lead in the 5th or 6th inning, then come right back and take the lead again. It's simply the offense is not hot right now so this is all magnified. The pitching has been fine overall, need to get the runs anytime, not just in the 8th or 9th.

And please stop with the begging for bunts and small ball stuff. No one was complaining when that offense carried them the first half mashing everywhere. You don't need to 'manufacture' anything. You simply need to come up with hits in RISP, any hit.

This team is such a tease. Riding high winning the series in Colorado and of course proceed to lay a big egg in San Francisco, averaging a meager 1.6 runs per game for the series. That won't get it done. Absolutely no excuses, they had great matchups, they avoided MadBum, and once again, the offense choked. They're actually very fortunate they didn't get swept, against one of MLBs worst teams.

Now they need to win the series in L.A. just to avoid a losing road trip, and yeah, that ain't gonna happen. Just be happy to limp back home at 4-5 if they can at least win one.

None has really sucked less than the other. Counsell could pick names out of a hat when it comes to those guys and that would be as justified as picking them on merit.

And please stop telling people that asking for small ball is wrong and that your opinion is right.

In the playoffs you need to manufacture runs, your faces top pitching talent.

I would be interested to see how many manufactured runs occurred last year CLE vs CHI.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Your right HR or bust.

Very intelligent, how about the Royals Cards Giants ? Ever heard of them?

Way to base your argument off of one series, one year.

Nationals a power team, how have they fared past few years in playoffs.

I know bunting and moving runners over isnt "cool" but neither is hitting HRs all season to get into the playoffs were your face 1s 2s and good 3s and getting shutdown.
