Glad to see Braun in there with a day off tomorrow.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Braun with another hittable ball that he hits an infield fly on...

Yea he's been a bit off the last few days. He would've destroyed that 10 days ago. Still not a fan of that extra day off vs Pit last week. He was smoking hot and then he only played 1 game in 4 days and hasn't been the same since. Whatever, i'm sure he was bound to cool regardless but hope that wasn't a factor in it...

Nice job Shaw

Hopefully Garza's last start as a Brewer today!

I hope not, that means we probably got creamed. Can't afford to give away games.

I certainly would not have a long leash on him today with the off day tomorrow and the Dodgers looming.

Absolutely. Torres/Jeffress/Drake for 4-5 innings today if needed.

With Hader pitching yesterday the most likely multi inning route would be Drake?? Can't say I look forward to that option either...

One thing I've noticed counsel will do is have guys pitch 1+ inning often and pull them once they appear to not look effective. The Jeffress/Torres/Drake tandem could probably go 4-5 innings if needed. Maybe even add hughes to that mix. We do have the off day, then 3 against the dodgers with our better starters due up that you'd hope will be able to go deep into the game.

Villar and Garza...... the rope could not be longer.

Garza.... if he throws up two more bad starts, he has to be gone. Or.... you could send this team player to the pen. That should work, no problems.

Villar has a bad avg, bad contact, bad baserunning instincts, and even worse that that as a right handed hitter. To play him sparingly is one thing. To lead him off is indefensible. And no, the horse isn't dead yet. He's still leading off.

Good post. Villar has been terrible for the entire year. IMHO he should not be hitting above #7 in the lineup. Hell I'd put the Pineapple in front of him.
