Barnes needed to go to AAA and work on location and a secondary pitch. Give Hughes the 7th.

 

...it's not the 7th. Barnes is in, right now, in the 6th.

What do you suggest CC do to cover 4 innings today? He can only use what is given to him. Take your beef up with Stearns who orchestrated this mess.

 

I don't really follow this line of thinking either. He signed Feliz, didn't work out. Brought up Hader for the pen. Traded for Webb, hasn't worked out, but also traded for Swarzak and that has. Based on last year I'm sure they expected more from Torres. Guys just haven't produced but it hasn't been from a lack of trying to fix the pen.

 

Yeah you can make the argument that they needed 2 guys and should have pursued Neshek, and that I can understand, but it doesn't always work out as hoped. Justin Wilson has been a train wreck for the Cubs so far. I don't hear many saying we missed the boat on him lately.

I'll make sure to send Stearns his participation trophy after the year lol I'm kidding, sort of. It's not that they haven't tried doing more it's that guys like Torres/Drake are even still on this team when there were options to be had (Neshek) that could have helped propel this team to the playoffs. It's okay to see the things Stearns hasn't done great on as well as all the awesome moves he has made. Everyone really needs to chill when discussing him.
