Cubs 4, Jays 3. Unfortunately the Cubs have gotten exactly what they hoped for when they traded for Wade Davis.

There just isn't going to be much help forthcoming from the Cubs remaining schedule. That's why series' like this one against Colorado are just so critical. We really need to rally and win the last 2 here. Potential 4 game swing in the WC race at stake.

No criticizing the refs tonight, guys. They're wearing white wristbands.

:laughing :laughing :laughing :laughing That is the funniest thing ever.

First of all pot meet kettle. Second of all, how exactly are white wristbands going to force the commissioner's office to bow down before it? If this doesnt work will they start kneeling during the national anthem?

I propose fans should start wearing black wristbands to protest the escalating lack of ability to call balls and strikes!

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

I hope this means that any time a player or coach starts to argue with an ump they just stand there with their arms folded or walk away. Don't want to look like hypocrites here.

Perez batting 5th? We're gonna lose.

Okay that's a bit dramatic but that's how I feel when I see him in the top half of the lineup. He's a bad hitter.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Counsell's infatuation with Perez is both baffling and annoying.

Fun fact; since July 1st Perez has walked twice in 98 AB's.

I was recently looking at Perez' numbers. Batting average is bad. OBP is bad. Really no reason for Perez to be on the roster, much less hit 5th.

Can our announcers discuss Chad Bettis testicular cancer any more? I get it, it's quite a story, and quite a bounce back for him, but c'mon...

Hacks Perez wastes no time getting himself out.

It's becoming a downright joke.

Almost to the point where they need to tell him - "That bat does not leave your shoulders until you have a strike. That bat does not leave your shoulders on a 3-1 count."

I mean right now no one has any reason to ever give him a pitch to hit.

Maybe Colorado will want Thames in the offseason?!? Lol back to back triples* games for him.

Wow, that's a nice gift from the Rockies' outfield. A triple for Thames?! Okie doke.

He had a triple yesterday too.

The one yesterday was legit. Today's reminded me of the time I played on the old school astroturf and a ball was "lined" into the gap and what should have been a routine single turned into a 3B because of how the ball scooted passed.

C'mon, Braun. Get the runner in.
