My God Perez.....call he ball or get out of the way

Uecker's call on that was unbelievably bad. I still don't know what happened. He has gotten to be just awful.

I know what you mean but Ueck did say two out so then we knew. He is and will always be my favorite in the booth. I will forgive a lot.

I didn't hear anything about two outs so that's my bad. I've always loved him, but man it's rough sometimes.

Edit: Also, the crowd told me someone caught it. I just had no idea who or how.

Love Uek but I don't like going to Game Center to find out what just happened

I really don't understand what it is about that, that you and Doc don't believe or understand.

The constant whining is getting tiresome, that is all I'm saying...

That could apply to a lot, to be honest. Villar playing. WHERE Villar is playing, Braun's days off, Brian flippin' Anderson and whether he's any good or not, CC's bunting decisions etc. Some very tired dead horses, lately...

It was three minutes after the play and all I could do was assume by the cheer from the crowd that it was caught. I love Ueck to death but he is awful at calling action as it happens.

Yeah that's what 162 game seasons do and they get amplified when in a pennant chase. People just need to get over it a bit. No place better than a game thread. Even the strike/ball had ump stuff. It's a peeve of some and it's very warranted. So what.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Also, isn't in game threads meant for quick off the cuff frustration remarks?

Sure... But its a little overbearing when one of every four posts is a complaint about a bad pitch call. Extremely repetitive....

Same could be said about villar, Braun, Davis, scooter, pitcher x, reliever y.

It's an in game threads. Strike calls are consistently wrong. We aren't creating threads every other day. We simply continue to point out the absurdity of the strike zone...in game threads.

Edit: I guess my question is...if we can't express frustration with certain pitches in at bats...where is it supposed to go?

I liked it better when Fox Trax was used sparingly on the telecast. Now, it's about every pitch. Also, I'm not convinced it is very accurate with offspeed pitches.

And I'm not convinced its adjusted for batter height. It's good for the plate, but I don't see it adjusting in size for every batter.

I'm not saying you cant.... Im saying be cognizant that several posters are expressing frustration with the fact that game threads are bogged down lately with a ton of complaints about ball/strike calls. Everyone understands that bad calls happen but pointing out every wrong call is probably not necessary, is it? And as others have said, theres no guarantee that any of the many pitch tracking services out there are 100% accurate.

I'll be completely honest here, and this is my personal take. Reading game threads this year is like reading Packer game threads on fb. (And im a packer fan)

"Bad call. We got screwed. Always happens to us" etc etc etc etc. It feels like with the advent of pitchtrax and gametrax everyone is either suddenly an expert or thinks the umps will stop sucking. Neither of these are true.

Just glancing at yesterdays IGT there wasn't a single post in yesterday's GT criticizing the umpiring. Perhaps the game threads that are the most critical of the umpiring are the games with very bad umpiring. No, not every bad call gets brought up. Not even close.

In any event like Brew mentioned it's a legitimate gripe that reflects people's real time reactions. IGTs are nothing more than the Web equivalent of a group of folks sitting around watching their favorite team and expressing their real time reactions. As long as everything is within the fan forum etiquette I don't see the big deal.

I personally think the criticisms of BA get old and tiresome, but I don't tell people to stop whining about him because to some people that is a problem. I just generally choose not to participate in those discussions or express my own disagreement with it.

Yes, I agree. Just like people complaining about the playing time or Kirk a year ago. ;) :laughing

It is an in game thread and can be easily scanned over if it is something that bothers you. It really isn't all that one sided either. People mention bad calls on both sides. It's that bad at times.

Well, I'm not a Packer fan, so I can't say anything to that.

Also, if you've read many of my posts you've noticed I don't single out 'us ' getting screwed. The whole thing is awful.

It becomes frustrating to see something that is easily fixable messed up time and time again.

I'll be sure to point out any time another poster mentions something that 'Bogs' down 6 pages.

I'll second that about Packer games. My friends and I generally chat via Facebook messenger during Packer games. Those chats make these in-game threads look tame. Every Packer coach sucks. Every Packer defensive player sucks. Every call against the Packers is crappy reffing.
