pinch running for a run that doesnt matter?

avoid DP type of move

How does the runner at first avoid a DP? I would think in a tie game like this having an extra pinch hitter and keeping Shaw's bat in the game are much better options

avoid DP type of move. Faster runner less likely to hit into the DP.

Still pretty baffling to me. Typical ground ball the runner at 1st is going to be thrown out no matter who it is. It's more about the speed of the batter staying out of it.

Strange strategy to me. Not sure it is worth removing Shaw from the game.

Most likely way is for Perez to get to second to break up throw to first. I would have rather not PR too. Counsell gets paid to manage though.

I get there is like 1 possible ground ball that would take just long enough that Perez would get there to break it up but Shaw wouldn't, but if that is the reasoning CC should just go home for the night
