2017-08-12: Reds (Feldman) at Brewers (Suter) 6:10 PM CDT [Brewers win 6-5 on a 10th inning wild pitch walk-off.]

I know Villar has been good lately but my God. You've got 2 runs sitting out there with a single, how do you take strike 3 with 2 out. Just how?

Its maddening. These are the same guys that are swinging for the fences down 5 runs ahead in the count with nobody on. For crying out loud, understand the situation. How hard is it? This isn't specifically calling out Villar but numerous times I've seen that situational garbage from these guys.

He got rung up on the same pitch you complained that Broxton got rung up on.

Has absolutely nothing to do with what I'm talking about. When it happened to Broxton, there was nobody on. When It happened to Villar, it was a run scoring situation, which calls for more aggression on borderline pitches. I would say that regardless of who was up. I even criticized Broxton in my post and said he's already going to strike out plenty on his own. You don't need to defend Villar in every possible situation when the criticism is clearly warranted.

And all that said, no, it wasn't the same pitch. Gameday had Broxton's clearly off the corner. Villar's caught the corner just barely on the edge, which does by the rule qualify as a strike.

:rolleyes Same spot on the tv's Fox Trax. Another poster said it was right down the middle. Carry on though.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Gameday uses Statcast which is supposed to be a legal display of the actual strike zone. FoxTrax does not.

Once again, not the point. If Broxton had K'ed looking right there I would have had the same criticism. It's a valid critique. You don't agree that with 2nd and 3rd and 2 out, a more aggressive approach is needed given the situation?

I do. But sometimes you get busted inside and K's happen. He got caught over the plate and rung up on a "ball." It happens.

Wasn't a ball. Barely catching the corner counts as a strke. Trust Foxtrax if you will.

Again, I've seen this from other guys, so I'm not just specifically going after Villar. It's an extreme pet peeve of mine for a guy to K in a 2 out RBI situation. I have a lot more patience for chasing there. And a lot more patience for striking out looking on a borderline 3-2 pitch when you're leading off an inning down 3. Situational baseball.

That Will Smith trade looks oh so good...

You make it sound like Will Smith has done something.

Lol does every guy that we trade away have to do something for it to be a bad deal? Susac looks like trash and Bickford hasn't been on the field. That's what we've had for our prized lefty reliever a year ago when the market was smoking hot. Its disappointing to say the least.

Um.... yes. What do you think Giants fans are saying trading away their 1st round pick for a guy that needed TJ surgery?

Double switch, but having Hader bat next inning would've been worth Pina pinch hitting for Sucksac.

He could have still just double switched maybe Perez for Broxton instead if Pina doesn't reach. Would have been worth taking a shot.

I don't give a rats behind what they think or want. Lol why the hell would I care what they think or want? Winning trades is what I want Stearns to do. And not just win them, I want him to find the best players baseball has ever seen for our worst players. Why? Because I'm a Brewers fan. I don't care nor want other teams to feel good
