I can't really explain it but there's something I just can't stand about Billy Hamilton. Honestly he's a pretty terrible hitter who has no good baseball qualities other than being really fast. Unfortunately he can never get on base to actually use that except seemingly against us.

I swear the offense heating up is going to coincide with the pitching going into the tank starting yesterday and we'll all be complaining about how the offense has to carry the team. That's the way it goes with this team. Neither phase of the game can ever coexist with the other.

Shaw with a 3 run homer to get the lead. Here's hoping the guys have a good game tonight and finally win one.

Now that Villar is hitting Stearns goes out and gets a second baseman. But defensively it will be an upgrade. Walker is a very good player.

Broxton is getting rung up on a ridiculous amount of pitches outside the zone lately. He's going to strike out enough on his own without the umpires continuing to help out the opposing pitcher.

I know Fox Trac had it off the plate but the pitch looked over the plate. Strange. And Keon went straight to the dugout.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Gameday had it clearly off the plate as well. It was a pretty nice frame.

Villar going to opposite field with authority is a great thing to see. Haven't seen it all year

Its one of the reasons I'm not nuts about the Walker trade. Been waiting all season for him to get it going and now that he does he's going to spend the rest of it on the bench. Now we'll have to pay a few million for Walker and in addition have no new information on whether Villar is worth investing for going forward or not.

If I thought the division was winnable for us I'd probably feel differently. But I don't think it is.

If I'm wrong and Neil Walker sparks us and carries us to a division title I'll happily eat crow.

I can understand both sides. Still have some many games against the Cubs and Pirates, so little hot streak puts this team right back in it. Playing time will be interesting coming up here.

You gotta try sometimes. That was a fine send. Perfect throw got him.
