The Brewers co-op team took the lead with a run in the bottom of the seventh, then tacked on two insurance runs in the eighth, as they topped the Dodgers, 6-3. Jose Pena finished 2-for-3 with a double while Elian Gonzalez added two hits and Edwin Sano chipped in a single and a sac fly.

The Diamondbacks plated a run in the bottom of the ninth to walk off with a 3-2 win over the Brewers on Friday. Michele Vassalotti started and went six innings, allowing just one unearned run. The ninth inning run given up by Jesus Brea was also unearned but he was charged with the loss. Ernesto Martinez finished the game 2-for-4 with a double while Aaron Familia added a hit and a pair of walks.

Biloxi suffers just their second loss in their last 11 games

Quick Summary:

Biloxi's starter, Luis Ortiz, couldn't get through an inning and the offense tallied two hits on the entire night. Not surprisingly that equated to a 6-0 loss to Tennessee. Dustin DeMuth had the only extra base hit with a double and Jacob Nottingham had the other hit for the Shuckers. Ortiz just didn't have it in his return giving up two big flys on his way to four earned runs in his 2/3 inning. Forrest Snow had a solid outing in relief going three strong racking up four K's.

On the mound, Luis Ortiz (0.2 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 1 BB) started the game while Travis Hissong (3.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, BB, 4 K), Taylor Williams (1.0 IP, H, 2 K), Forrest Snow (3.0 IP, 2 H, 4 K), and Quintin Torres-Costa (1.0 IP, 2 K) provided the relief.

Brown pitches Mudcats to series opening victory

Zack Brown matched a career high with eight strikeouts in his Mudcats' debut in Myrtle Beach

Zack Brown (6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 8 K) surrendered a first inning home run but was pretty well untouchable after that. Wuilder Rodriguez went 2 innings and Nate Griep worked the 9th for his 22nd save.

 

Monte Harrison (1-4, 2 RBI) made the most of his one hit by driving in the first two runs for the Mudcats. Lucas Erceg (2-4, HR) and Corey Ray (3-4) had multi-hit games.

I have no idea how Brown's delivery holds up as a starter, but his fastball movement is disgusting. I agree with NolanBrett currently that he's a reliever due to the delivery, but I am open to Brown being able to continue with his weird, head-whacking way of dealing as a starter. Nothing he throws is straight. Even the four seamer has some giddyap at the end.

 

I mean, via BrewerProspects, my word. My word.
