The Brewers co-op team scored three in the eighth but it wasn't nearly enough as they lost to the Astros, 10-3. Jefry Tamares worked three scoreless innings, striking out five. Luis Avila, Javier Castillo, Antonio Perez and Bryan Dimas each finished with one hit.

Ka'ai Tom, who went to the same high school as Jordan Yamamoto, hit a 3 run home run off Yamamoto in the 6th inning. Yamamoto (6 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K) took the loss. An error by Luis Aviles led up to the Tom home run, which created the 3 unearned runs given up by Yamamoto. Kodi Medeiros gave up 1 run in the final 3 innings.

 

Luis Aviles had 2 of Carolina's 5 hits. Corey Ray was caught stealing for the 8th time this year.

Quick Summary:

BILOXI, MS - At 11:57 pm on Thursday night, Dustin DeMuth smacked his second double of the night down the left to bring Clint Coulter home from first base and give the Biloxi Shuckers a 3-2 walk-off win over the Tennessee Smokies in 11 innings.

 

Playing their first baseball since Sunday, the Shuckers won their fourth in a row and ninth in their last ten tries. Biloxi remains one game back of the Mobile BayBears, in second place, in the Southern League South Division.

The series opener was tabbed as the MiLB Duel of the Day by MiLB.com and Corbin Burnes and Adbert Alzolay didn't disappoint. Burnes was solid once again, overcoming two early runs to complete 5.0 innings. The righty allowed the two runs, one earned, and struck out six over the course of his outing.

Not much happening on offense as the Brewers fall back to .500 in the second half. Pat McInerney hit his league-leading 8th HR of the seasom to kick off the scoring in the 1st, but the Brewers managed only 4 singles and a HBP the rest of the way. Jesus Lujano had two of those singles, and is hitting .318 in the second half.

 

Austin Rubick, Chase Williams, and Max Lazar all had ok outings.
