AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Soundcloud: "The Rattlers lost 4-0 to the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Sunday, but there is still plenty to discuss on the Papa John's Pizza Postgame Podcast. Matt Erickson, Josh Pennington, & Andrew Vernon have comments from the clubhouse while Chris & Kyle talk about the game."

Wisconsin Box Score

18-year old Mario Feliciano had a 10-game hitting streak in early May and with a hit today now has his second 10-game hitting streak of the season.

Wisconsin Game Log

Rattlers starter Josh Pennington began the game with a quick six pitch 1st inning and recorded seven strikeouts over 4.2 innings pitched. Pennington only gave up two hits over that span, unfortunately both were solo home runs.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Mudcats avoid shutout in 9-1 series finale loss

The Astros took the series 3-1 and dropped the Mudcats to 9.5 games back of first

By Carolina Mudcats | August 6, 2017 6:59 PM ET

http://www.milb.com/assets/images/0/7/4/242293074/cuts/16x9_Harber_4t1woajm_1enb868f.jpg

Carolina falls to 56-56 on the year. There are only 26 games left. Now 9 1/2 games back of the Astros. Conor Harber (5 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 6 BB, 6 K) got the start and the loss. Brad Kuntz (1 2/3 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 0 K) has been mostly pretty good this year but this was not a good performance. Frank Lopez mopped up.

Monte Harrison was 2-3 with a double but was caught stealing once. He likes to play shallow in the outfield but has had 3 balls go over his head the last couple of games. The other two hits were singles by Weston Wilson and Jake Gatewood. Trent Clark had a nice play in the field when he grabbed a ball off the wall in left field and threw the batter out at 2nd. Trent leads the Carolina League in outfield assists this year.

Carolina Box Score

Carolina Game Log

Colorado Springs Box Score

Triple and double for Brett Phillips.

Taylor Jungmann turns 28 in December, and he must be thrilled that he's out of options. With the way he's pitched since his May 29th move to AAA, he would have been in the big leagues for at least 15 other organizations by now.

Hernandez' Quality Start Spoiled In Pitchers Duel

Brewers All-Star right-hander outdone by Rockies Ocando in battle of undefeated starters

By Garrett Greene / Helena Brewers

RHP Nelson Hernandez in a battle of top Pioneer League pitchers, lots of detail in the game summary linked above.

***

Helena Box Score

H-Crew really muffled, just six singles and no walks, no one reached base more than once.

RHP Gabe Friese made his Helena debut after 20.1 scoreless Maryvale innings, and the Pioneer League got to him. He tossed a scoreless 7th to extend his streak, but a leadoff home run in the 8th led to three runs (two earned).

Helena Game Log

Helena Top of the 8th

Franly Mallen hit by pitch.

Offensive Substitution: Pinch-runner Nick Roscetti replaces Franly Mallen.

Hopefully just a precaution...

AZL Cubs 8, AZL Brewers 7

AZL Brewers Boxscore

Five late runs off of reliever Kadon Simmons sunk the Brewers, and it hurts just that much more losing to a Cubs' affiliate. The other noteworthy pitching thing was that Wilfred Salaman did *not* pick anyone off.

Jesus Lujano and Je'Von Ward each had 2 hits, and Lujano added 3 stolen bases to his total, which ties him for the league lead. (Incidentally, the league leader is Tyler James of the Royals, and he is a perfect 19 for 19 in stolen base attempts - not bad.)

AZL Brewers Game Log

Robie Rojas reaches on a throwing error by third baseman Cam Balego. Jesus Lujano scores. Pat McInerney to 2nd.
