This is a photo from a DSL Brewers/Indians Co-Op team game.

The Cleveland farmhand is wearing the dark Indians jersey, I imagine the Brewers' players would wear the Milwaukee dark. Makes it easy for the few fans (and scouts) to differentiate, but eliminates our search for the elusive "Co-Op" jersey in the Miller Park shop. That would be one sweet jersey, and would certainly identify oneself as a minor league diehard (once it was explained to the admirer).

You won't see this often, or maybe ever again --

Eighteen "active" pitchers on the Sky Sox roster

Now granted, Wily Peralta (outrighted) and Wei-Chung Wang (optioned) aren't official yet, but yeah, there's a lot of housecleaning to do soon, one way or another ("Helena", Temp Inactive, etc.).

With Andrew Susac en route to join the Brewers in Tampa, have to believe Nate Orf, Mr. Everywhere, is backing up Tyler Heineman tonight.

Jacksonville stops the Shuckers winning streak at five on Thursday

Corbin Burnes tossed five shutout innings and struck out seven in a no decision

By Biloxi Shuckers

cut.JPG

Corbin Burnes lowered his season-ERA to 1.58 over 21 starts between two levels in the Brewers system.

Biloxi Shuckers Box Score

Quick Summary:

It would have been one heck of a game if Corbin Burnes wasn't on a stricter innings limit. Corbin Burnes absolutely dominated the Jumbo Shrimp for five innings and ended his day by retiring eleven straight. He struck out seven batters, walking none, and throwing 45 of his 58 pitches for strikes. Unfortunately Burnes had a shortened day and the offense was just as lively as the MLB squad these days only getting three hits for no runs. In the end it was a 3-0 loss for the Shuckers snapping their five game win streak.

Pitching Summary:

On the mound, Corbin Burnes (5.0 IP, 2 H, 7 K) started the game while Travis Hissong (2.0 IP, H, 2 ER BB, K), Quintin Torres-Costa (1.0 IP, H, BB, K), and Matt Ramsey (1.0 IP, H, ER, 3 K) provided the relief.

Hitting Summary:

Gabriel Noriega (1-2)

Javier Betancourt (1-2)

Angel Ortega (1-4)

Biloxi Shuckers Game Log

3 K inning for Corbin Burnes.

Jacksonville Top of the 2nd

Dustin Geiger strikes out swinging.

Rodrigo Vigil doubles (2) on a fly ball to right fielder Clint Coulter.

Alex Yarbrough strikes out swinging.

Chris Diaz strikes out swinging.

I'm trying not to get too over the moon about this guy but, good grief!

Again...and again... and again... again again again... again

Expecting reality to sink in cuz he's a 4th rounder advancing very quickly but he just keeps putting up good starts. He's making woodruff's climb look mediocre.

Mudcats walked-off 5-4 in Buies Creek

Weston Wilson hit a two-run home run for the Mudcats in the loss

By Carolina Mudcats | August 4, 2017 12:56 AM ET

http://www.milb.com/assets/images/4/1/2/227352412/cuts/480x380/cut.jpg

(NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats)

Trent Clark (2-3, 2 2B, 2 BB, SB) and Corey Ray (2-3, 2 BB, SB) each reached base four times in this game. Unfortunately, the middle of the order (Jake Gatewood, Lucas Erceg and Isan Diaz) collectively went 2-13 with no RBI's. As a result, a lot of those baserunners were stranded. Weston Wilson was 2-4 with a home run on his return to the Mudcats.

More of the same from Marcos Diplan (3 2/3 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 6 BB, 4 K) who got the start. Brad Kuntz (2 1/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K) had another good outing in middle relief. Eric Hanhold took the loss.

Carolina Box Score

Carolina Game Log

Carolina Top of the 1st

Trent Clark doubles (18) on a line drive to right fielder Stephen Wrenn, deflected by center fielder Myles Straw.

Monte Harrison strikes out swinging.

Corey Ray walks.

Jake Gatewood walks. Trent Clark to 3rd. Corey Ray to 2nd.

Lucas Erceg strikes out swinging.

Isan Diaz grounds out, second baseman Alex De Goti to first baseman Taylor Jones.

LumberKings Beat Rattlers

Wisconsin strands ten in loss at home

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

7_23_PlayerOfTheGame_RonnieGideon_f17yu9et_zsuf2qvc.jpg

Chris' writeup includes one big fielding flub, baserunning adventures, and as hinted at above, runners galore, but not runs galore.

AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Soundcloud: "The Papa John’s Pizza Postgame Podcast features audio from the clubhouse with Dallas Carroll, Braden Webb, Cameron Roegner, Ronnie Gideon, and Matt Erickson. There is an update on Joantgel Segovia and some of the numbers are put into perspective by Chris Mehring & Kyle Lobner after a 4–2 loss to the Clinton LumberKings.

Clinton Top of the 5th

Defensive Substitution: Ryan Aguilar replaces left fielder Joantgel Segovia, batting 1st, playing left field.

Do listen to the full podcast, but the update is that he tweaked a pinkie on an outfield dive, day-to-day.

Wisconsin Box Score

Third baseman Dallas Carroll was 0-for-2 in his Wisconsin debut, but reached twice via walk and HBP. He also had a tough baserunning moment as seen in the video above and as was discussed in the podcast.

Zach Clark had a monster game in left field defensively, as you saw in the video above.

More strong mound work from LHP Cameron Roegner.

Wisconsin Game Log

Bad luck on a lineout --

Wisconsin Bottom of the 2nd

Ronnie Gideon singles on a line drive to right fielder Johnny Slater.

Demi Orimoloye walks. Ronnie Gideon to 2nd.

Devin Hairston out on a sacrifice bunt, pitcher Nick Wells to first baseman Nick Zammarelli. Ronnie Gideon to 3rd. Demi Orimoloye to 2nd.

Trever Morrison lines into an unassisted double play, shortstop Luis Rengifo. Demi Orimoloye doubled off 2nd.

Bullpen Shuts Down Bees In 10-6 Win

Wren, Dubon, Phillips, Heineman all drive in two runs each

By Robby Veronesi / Colorado Springs Sky Sox

Nice early AM pushout on a road game summary that required a lot of detail, thanks Robby.

My goodness, the power this man is discovering despite his listed 6'0", 160 frame -- only going to get better, folks.

***

Colorado Springs Box Score

This bunch is so resilient - with the DH in place for this series, there literally was not a bench player available for Rick Sweet in this game, and these guys reached base 19 times. Really hope this coaching staff gets rewarded with success in the PCL playoffs in September.

Colorado Springs Game Log

Rare hiccup start for Bubba Derby, but as noted, kudos, bullpen.
