Good situation to send Broxton . ..

Not really. If he gets thrown out we have arcia, pinch hitter, and villar...

And if he makes it the tying run is in scoring position. Waiting for runs to happen on their own hasn't worked well for us lately. Molina is good, but not as elite as he once was throwing out runners.

A pitcher that typically throws fastballs and a catcher who can throw runners out...no thanks.

You've also got a runner in Broxton who is over 80% successful in steals for his career. Works both ways.

And Rosenthal isn't quick to the plate. I agree that I don't want Arcia leading off the 9th, but you have to get a runner in scoring position if at all possible.

At least get Braun to the plate. Give ourselves a swing at it.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Literally about the exact type of AB I expected from Perez in that situation. Take 2 big hacks, pop the second one up about 15 feet.

Perez' batting average and OBP are products of pitchers throwing him very hittable balls. Make him chase and he gets himself out.

And exactly the expected AB expected from Villar . ..

Until he quiets the swing, he and Arcia will never be very good at hitting a baseball. Unnecessary movement all over the place. Frustrating.
