The DSL Brewers/Indians are playing two games in order to make up for a July 14th rainout.

The DSL Brewers are playing two games, because the league is moving up the August 16th game to today for some reason - future stadium conflict a possibility, etc.

Anyone else find themselves wondering exactly how good is Troy Stokes? As a prospect he is just so overlooked but the guy has talent & just out performs everyone in front of him! Size & hit tool of Gindl but a true athlete. He will be interesting to follow the next few seasons

My main concern with the power he discovered is if it would actually translate to the MLB level. He needs it as a corner OFer.

Any chance Brewers call up Hiura to be a bench bat in September? Only half joking.

I don't get to caught up in numbers of a college bat in A-ball...see Lucas Erceg. I was pretty skeptical of his numbers when everyone was jumping on him as one of our best prospects. I still like him a lot, but college guys should be smoking anything below A+.

Hiura, should get another bump to Carolina & DH. He just is destroying pitching. He may be fastest moving bat we have had in a long time. Kid can just hit!

Heckuva game pitched by Supak and Harber. Harber had a rough start, but three of his last four appearances have been excellent.

Stokes has played quite a bit of CF, but lately he has been on the same teams as Ray, Clark, and Harrison, so there haven't been innings at CF to be had.

Can't say I would have ever expected to see Nate Orf batting cleanup.

Is the overall talent in DSL stronger than it's ever been? Just seems every day there's different players with big games. Both at the plate and on the mound.

The DSL Brewers are loaded with some real talent with the big 4 on offense. Even without Martinez hitting all the time, he is an absolute OBP monster. Florentino is I guess a kid who could be added to make it a big 5. Pitching.... not many young studs to be excited about. Michele Vassalotti is really exciting with only being 16 going on 17 soon with way he has pitched. Salaya has been beaten up a bit. Rest are older 20 year guys you'd expect to do well.

I won't pretend to know much about the co-op because I don't follow too closely because when I read box score, I don't remember what guys are ours. Torres & Sano are doing well at 20 & 19. York is 18 & been solid. Many of the top pitchers again are 19-21 years old

My observations on Stokes are that he appears to have great bat speed, he is predominately a pull hitter, and he still has some work to do defensively even as a left fielder. The developing power appears legit.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Supak and Harber combine on four hit shutout

The Mudcats won their third straight with a series opening victory versus Down East

By Carolina Mudcats | July 31, 2017 11:43 PM ET

http://www.milb.com/assets/images/6/0/0/241434600/cuts/Nasty_Supak_Strike.MP4.00_00_03_17.Still001_my1drbip_4piix3o9.jpg

Trey Supak (5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) started and came out after 5 only because the Brewers are trying to limit his innings. Conor Harber (4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K) went the rest of the way. The Mudcats' coaching staff have taken some criticism but let's give Dave Chavarria some credit for helping turn around some guys who seemed totally lost. That would include Conor Harber and Eric Hanhold especially. Also some great defensive work in this game. That outfield with Ray and Harrison can really cover some ground.

Corey Ray (2-3, 2B, 2 BB) and Monte Harrison (3-5, 2B) really set the table from the one and two spots in the order in this game. The first two runs were driven in by Jose Cuas (1-4, 2B) with a ringing double to the gap in left center. Charlie Meyer (1-3) got his first hit for the Mudcats.

Carolina Box Score

Carolina Game Log

Luis Aviles singles on a ground ball to left fielder Josh Altmann. Trent Clark to 2nd.

Charlie Meyer strikes out swinging.

Corey Ray strikes out swinging.

Monte Harrison singles on a line drive to right fielder LeDarious Clark. Jose Cuas out at home on the throw, right fielder LeDarious Clark to catcher Carlos Garay.
