Cubs Games- Getting More Brewers Fans Into Miller Park

rickh150

This is what it is, nothing that can structurally done about it by the team/organization. The team themself isn't going to intentionally make less money selling to WI people only and individuals aren't going to sell them for less money. Nothing that can be done other than put your money where your mouth is and go to the games yourself.

Personally, I picked multiples Cubs games in my 10 pack and plan to sell them all and don't regret it at all. Easy way to subsidize the cost in a year we were expected to not be good. Still two games left though, if we're still in it I'll probably go otherwise I have no problem taking double the money for them.

Its not that the ideas mentioned would be totally ineffective. The Brewers could only sell to Wisconsin zips, force purchasing non-Cub games with Cub games, incentivize Wisconsin based-companies to have group outings during Cub series, etc. None of them would eliminate Cubs fans, but each would reduce to some extent. Whether it’d be noticeable is debatable, but it would cost the Brewers revenue. Bottom line, the Brewers are at a $200 million annual revenue gap to the Cubs, they shouldn’t take action to reduce revenue.

Never gonna happen but the Brewers players could buy up tickets and give them away in Milwaukee during the day before the game. Ryan Braun always could use some more good will.

Give away free tickets to random people and expect those people not to sell them for hundreds of dollars in profit?

If you do it the day of the game they aren't likely to sell to Cubs fans.

Guys on the team are professionals and should be able to handle playing in front of a split home crowd. Is it annoying? Sure. Do I think that the Brewers should invest time and resources to make sure that their product goes into the "right" hands? Absolutely not.

I have two terrace reserved seats in a 20 game pack, fans choice. I sold all 4 seats(2 each for Saturday & Sunday) and paid for 1/4 my season ticket package off Stub Hub.

Cubs fans can have my tickets. I'll take their money.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this and if I had season tickets I would probably do the same thing.

To me, there is something wrong to the core with this.... $ before Brewers loyalty. Even more, you are "helping" the enemy while profiting from it, and in essence hurting the atmosphere for other Brewers fans (and players) around you who choose to go. You guys know that we were playing them for first place this past weekend, right? Moreover, I don't care if you sell tickets to really any other non Cubs game ( maybe Cards).or playoff game. I like having a home field advantage.

So, let's say the Brewers would play the Cubs in a one game playoff at Miller Park... still ok to sell your ticket to Cubs fans? Ok to put it on open market? Or as long as everybody else is doing it, I might as well cash in too?

I have been to two Cubs games (out of the twenty or so games)over the last two years. I bought them on Stubhub... paid more than I did to any other game. I do not compare to season ticket holders, some who wonderfully go to nearly every game. So, I know that I too should make it a priority to get to more games against the rival team. I could get to more.

Concluding, I'm glad to take the verbal jabs on this topic, ok to stand alone too. You really think the Brewers, our beloved team, wants 80% of the Field and Loge Infield covered with Cubs fans?

1. Season ticket holders should to do a better job getting tickets to Brewers fans, or the Brewers have to make it a priority to get best seats to Brewers fans somehow. Some teams monitor accounts to see if tix are sold on secondary market and strip seats from season ticket holders. I would welcome that.... just don't see why our top seats need to fall into enemy hands. I mean, front row seats? Behind the dugout? Can't keep fans away, but best seats should be with our fans. Isn't there a system where season ticket holders share with other ticket holders ala Green Bay Packers?

This again? So, in your opinion, you can't possibly be a true Brewer fan if you sell your tickets on the open market and a Cub fan happens to buy them? I'm so tired of these judgments. You must be filthy rich (or completely financially irresponsible - as long as we are throwing around judgement of people) if you would be willing to forfeit $100 plus per ticket just so that there is no chance a Cub fan will get your seats.

Also, MLB teams do not care at all if you sell your tickets on the secondary market. All MLB season tickets holders are given a direct link within their season ticket holder account to sell tickets directly on Stub Hub. The fan purchasing the tickets can print them off directly from Stub Hub.

My family has been season ticket holders for the Packers the whole entire time of the Packers existence. We have never sold our tickets over face value and always have sold them to friends. But a big reason for this is because if you sell your tickets to strangers and they get kicked out or in trouble. We would lose our season tickets forever. Not sure what the Brewers do for that

Judgements? I don't like that word. It's my opinion on a topic. But I'll go with you here, you have traditionally left very insightful posts... it's not morally wrong, not a sin...but it's not being a great fan, is it? If every Brewers fan sold their Game 7 World Series ticket to the opposing team's fans, we would not be known as having great fans. Selling out to the enemy would be the dialogue.

Also, I am not the greatest fan or will be claiming that either. I go to about 10 games a year and simply do not go to the large majority of Cubs games.

For $100, A Cubs fan will be getting that ticket. You know that, right? They sold out spring training games whose tickets cost more than some of our regular games.

Would you sell the same ticket for $500 to a Cubs fan for a playoff game?

What kind of point are you trying to make here? A playoff game is so much different than game 48 of a 162 game season.
