Final: DSL Indians/Brewers 8, DSL Dodgers2 4

 

The Brewers co-op team got back on the winning track with an 8-4 victory over the Dodgers.

Henry Medina got the start and earned the win, going 5.2 innings and giving up all four runs, though only two were earned. Jose Alberro tossed the final 3.1 scoreless frames and notched his third save. Edwin Sano recorded three hits in four at-bats as he pushed his average up to .298 on the season. He also scored a pair of runs. Yorki Franco went 2-for-5 with a triple and Rafael Brito added two singles and drove in two runs.

A pair of Indians farmhands accounted for a good chunk of the offense, but two Brewers were key to a fifth inning run.

Final: DSL D-backs2 11, DSL Brewers 1

 

The Diamondbacks scored four runs in the second and never looked back, as they crushed the Brewers 11-2 on Thursday.

Starting pitcher Brayan Salaya got tagged for six runs in 2.1 innings as he took the loss. Salaya allowed four hits, but he struggled to throw strikes, walking seven batters. Wilber Perez made his pro debut in relief and tossed a scoreless seventh inning. Bryan Connell had the lone multi-hit game for the Brewers, going 2-for-3 with a double, while Ernesto Martinez doubled and walked in four trips to the plate.

Erceg leads the way again; Mudcats win fourth straight

Lucas Erceg drove in all three Carolina runs in Thursday's 3-2 win versus Wilmington

Cody Ponce (2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K) started for the Mudcats and worked two scoreless innings. It was planned for him to have limited pitches in this game. He wasn't injured, they are just trying to give him some rest and limit his innings. Frank Lopez worked a tandem role going 5 innings and giving up both Wilmington runs. He gets the win. Eric Hanhold and Nate Griep worked the 8th and 9th to preserve the win. Griep now with 19 saves on the year.

 

The Mudcats only had 5 hits in this game. Corey Ray (1-4, 2B) led off the game with a double and was stranded at third. All of the remaining hits came from Monte Harrison (2-4, 2 2B) and Lucas Erceg (2-3, HR, 3 RBI). Erceg singled in the winning run in the 6th.

Just frustrated. Dubon did something in most contexts that should be considered outstanding and raise his status and value, but given the context of 6000 feet above sea level, we have no idea how to analyze it or if it means anything for his future prospects with the Brewers. Nor do we have any idea how it fits into his development progression.
