Sergio Romo

He's had a really tough year out in LA but he was just cut and only a year removed from being better than most of our pen. I think he's worth a look to see if Derek Johnson can right the ship with this guy.

Well, every mediocre player that gets posted about here ends up being a Brewer so at this point I'd be shocked if Romo wasn't a Brewer.

Well up until this season nothing about Romo has been mediocre. He is 34 so maybe the wheels have fallen off but this season is a definite outlier for him. Not saying he will turn it around but he's been a dominant pen guy for many times years. I'd take a flyer on him over Scahill, Torres, Wang, Webb, Peralta or any other piece of garbage we trot out of the pen these days.

I have watched Romo consistently over the last 6 years. While he had some great years, at this point and time he is done.

Other than his numbers, why do you feel this way?

Traded to the Rays.

Acquired for cash or a PTBNL. Sounds like the Cotts trade a few years ago. I think it's safe to assume that there will not be any top prospects in the deal.

Market seems to be shaping up similar to last year, where above-average relievers aren't valued much and it will take elite relievers/closers to bring back top prospects.
