The last five were really tough this time around. I counted 16 players I could have easily penciled into spots #21-25.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

1. Lewis Brinson-

Brinson is the complete package. Something no other player among our top prospects can really say. He has a lot of potential and has shown it in the high minors. +0

2. Luis Ortiz-

I think he has a higher ceiling than Hader, but there are health concerns and he is farther off. +2

3. Keston Hiura-

This kid can flat out hit and has impressive bat speed. He looks like a prime candidate to be a fast mover which has value in itself. I am not concerned about the defense presently which is why I rank him aggresively. NEW!

4. Josh Hader-

Josh Hader is going to be a phenominal reliever...yes reliever. I don't see a high enough ceiling as a starter so I think he provides more value to us as a shutdown reliever. -2

5. Corbin Burnes-

Has he been phenominal or what? This guy is doing everything and not missing a beat. Burnes could be something really special with his pitches and great control. Cannot wait for him to make his debut.

6. Brandon Woodruff-

Three solid to good pitches and he commands them well. He is going to be a solid mid rotation guy.

7. Trent Clark-

Clark has elite OBP skills and has been very surprising on defense since being drafted. I think the power is about to show up. He just needs to up his average a bit and we have a dream lead off hitter on our hands.

8. Corey Ray-

It isn't that I don't like Ray, but he just hasn't been showing much since being drafted. He still has a high ceiling in my opinion, but he needs to start producing. Easily the biggest dissapointment in the entire system this year.

9. Tristan Lutz-

I loved this pick. His tools are big and full of potential. The only thing he lacks is speed on the base paths. However his other skills will make us forget about that downside.

10. Monte Harrison-

If you had to chisel yourself an athlete Harrison would be it. After early career struggles with injuries his power showed up full force this year. He already has 21 homeruns this year(including AS game).

This makes me nostalgic for the days of the weekly Power 50. I don't know how Toby made the time but we surely enjoyed it. I saw he gave us a Top 100 this time around. Thanks to everyone who is contributing. It's a fun list to review. It's been a long time since they've had so much organizational depth - maybe they've never had this kind of depth before.

Been following these for years all the way back to the start of this place and the Power 50 but don't think I've ever made a list. There's a first time for everything I guess. The way I ranked them was based on where I think each peaks in terms of major league value and my confidence in each to reach their ceiling at some point.

1 Lewis Brinson - The guy at the core of the team they're currently building

2 Freddy Peralta - The Adam Lind trade is going to look ridiculous in due time

3 Keston Hiura - Best pure hitter this org has drafted since Braun

4 Corbin Burnes - Just gets results, in a dominating fashion

5 Brandon Woodruff - Ceiling below Burnes but he's already made it to the majors

6 Brett Phillips - Gold Glove caliber OF and is much more than a 4th OF with the bat

7 Luis Ortiz - Could jump ahead of Woodruff if he could just build some innings

8 Josh Hader - If I thought he'd stick as a starter I'd jump him all the way ahead of Burnes

9 Tristan Lutz - Yes that's a lot of projection at 18 but I just don't see it w/ the hitters ranked lower

10 Trent Clark - Being just 20 years old gives him time to put it together

1. Brandon Woodruff - Already in the Majors and with progression, could be a solid #2

2. Luis Ortiz - Only 21 and seems to have turned the corner in AA

3. Lewis Brinson - I think CS might have hurt his development. Numbers are great, but breaking balls don't break and that's his biggest weakness.

4. Josh Hader - Don't think he can start but a comp of Andrew Miller is still extremely valuable

5. Keston Hiura - That bat will play anywhere and he is going to be fast tracked

6. Isan Diaz - My #1 coming into the year has disappointed in High A

7. Corbin Burnes - Hard to ignore the numbers he has put up this year

8. Trent Clark - Love the OBP -- if he can start hitting for average, look out.

9. Mauricio Duban - Think he starts at 2B for the Crew by end of next year.

10. Monte Harrison - Numbers finally seem to be matching the tools - love his upside
