Think Cubs are problem. Shaw over Brandt, Arcia over Russell, Sogard over Baez (Baez over Villar), Rizzo by a razor over Thames and Aguilar. Outfield is a wash as Braun and Broxton are negative, while Hayward and Scwarber are negative. Comes down to pitching and Cubs better now.

Baez and Rizzo are far better than anything the Brewers can field at those respective positions right now.

Glad to see Cubs bullpen imploding today. Maybe their pitching isn't better than Brewers.

Their roster is better than the Brewers, no doubt, right now. Who in their right mind can argue against that? They won about 120 games last year with most of these key pieces? Now, that being said, I truly believe that we can have a better roster by season's end if most of these happen.....

 

We pick up a top of rotation starter

Anderson and Nelson perform with sub 4 ERA in second half

Knebel is throwing similar and doesn't get hurt

Braun can be Braun and be healthy.

A set up man/ closer is added.

We are fluid with adding young pitchers ( Burnes, Hader, Ortiz, Woodruff) to staff and bullpen.... see who can stay up here.

Brinson is brought up.... everyday, our OF, whoever is in there, is brimming with talent. No more we gotta play Perez or Broxton everyday in the outfield.

Our everyday lineup is a version of themselves from the first half, even if we regress a bit overall.

 

 

So overview..

We need a top arm in the pen and especially the rotation. Emotionally, we all need a boost, as well.

Our young guns have to be the real deal and they need to be brought up and play.... more of them... sooner rather than Sept. They have to help produce in the pen, rotation, and lineup. It's asking a lot early in their careers.

Braun has to play. He has to be healthy. Our best player over the last decade has to be on that MVP level to carry an inexperienced lineup here on out.
