Michele Vassalotti.... not a bad first 3 outings for the 6'2 180 lbs 16 year old pitcher! Ernesto Martinez is an OBP monster! .200 over batting average! Not to mention he has been getting going at plate!

I am interested why they didn't send both Lara and Demi back down to Helena like they did w gatewood and Harrison. Both are still young for A ball and although have shown flashes seem completely overwhelmed and out of sorts. It would be nice to see them build some confidence going into next year.

They could probably switch them w Dallas Carroll and zach clark who are both older and hitting well

Game story via the Biloxi Sun-Herald has multiple quotes from Manager Mike Guerrero, including --

Biloxi’s pitching also deserves plenty of credit for Monday’s win.

Starter Aaron Wilkerson (8-4) struck out five while allowing two runs on five hits and one walk in five innings to earn the win. Freddy Peralta was effective in relief, allowing one hit and two walks in four scoreless frames, striking out six.

Guerrero said the plan all along was to piggyback Peralta with Wilkerson’s start on Monday.

“We wanted to do that at least one time around to give them breathers with their pitches,” he said. “It worked out great. Everything they did is how we gameplanned.”

Helena Box Score

Check out 2017 3rd rounder K.J. Harrison's game log -- hits in all six contests thus far, often multiples. Still just one game behind the plate, otherwise designated hitter. Could be fun once catching guru Charlie Greene gets a hold of him.

20-year-old Nic Pierre on base three more times and now sports a .354/.415/.438 line after 48 AB's.

Venezuelan RHP Nelson Hernandez trusts his fielders. The 4th-year-pro is only 20 years old. Career-wise, only 33 walks (and only 133 K's) in 202.2 innings.

Harrison would have an overall SLG across both levels of .506 if you included his 2 HR all-star performance and an OPS over .860 to go with it. Given how super toolsy both he and Gatewood are I can only dream they take another development step forward half as far as they did this year and we're looking at 2 top 10 prospects.
