True story: I used to play in an online OOTP league with a current member of the Brewers' front office.

I won't go into the trades they made.

Big deal, that's one name. You can't fathom the number of friends of cousins' friends that I know connected to the game.

I have a Ron Belliard autograph as well.

I had a Rob Deer autograph before 3TO was even a thing.

o wow, just because you think you know more about autographs than the average fan, like every other expert on this board, does not make it so. I worked at a pen factory starting at the age of 13, working my way up to production manager by 18. I got lucrative offers from Bic (actually from the CEO's wife herself after she was intrigued by my solution oriented, integrated metric based holistic dynamic synthesis of the ink futures market) and Pilot but I was already over qualified for those positions. I moved on to Sharpie at the age of 25 (youngest regional manager in the company) where I invented the question mark and the piano key necktie. If you have ever used a green Sharpie, well...you're welcome.

When a baseball player writes their name on a playing card, I don't just say gee thanks with a big fat grin on my face and show it to my mommy like most of probably do. I couldn't even do that if I tried. Instead, I am analyzing the angle they are holding then pen, asking them if they learned cursive in 3rd grade or 4th grade, feeling for the pressure they are using for the most important letters like F and U. Then I will throw that card in the garbage and have them sign another one, this time with me selecting the perfect sharpie to take into account all of their subtle mechanical tendencies. I bet you didn't even know that a perfect Rob Deer signature requires a blue felt H-78XL 8 inch marker, only manufactured between 1987 and 1993 in Panama. Pathetic.

I grew up with a guy who dated Bill Schroeder's daughter in high school, and he told me that Bill Schroeder's wife wanted my autograph to put on their mantle instead of Bill's first career hit ball.
