I wish theyd just send peralta down to Arizona it's like he's forgotten how to pitch. No pressure just work w coaches on fundamentals and get your form back. There's no way I'd bring him back to the big leagues until he had some successful outings in the minors and showed he's back on track.

On the bright side, Zack Brown with another good outing. Looks like he's over the injury he was dealing with earlier this year.

I really wonder how much value Garret Cooper has on the trade market. It's easy to assume little because he's never been a big-time prospect, he's playing in Colorado Springs, he's never put up double-digit HRs before, etc., but the reality is that none of us are scouts (well, a couple irregulars are) and none of us are GMs that evaluate players for a living. But he's putting up a damn impressive year. Yes, he has some huge home/road splits, but an .841 road OPS isn't bad at all.

Also wondering why Yadiel Rivera is on the big league club and not Ivan De Jesus. Not saying IDJ is a barn burner, but Rivera has never hit worth a lick anywhere and never will.

Mudcats lose late lead while suffering fifth straight loss

Medeiros finished with a no-decision, but earned his first quality start

By Gregory Young / Carolina Mudcats | July 8, 2017 10:02 PM ET

Kodi Medeiros pitching for the 2017 Carolina Mudcats at Five County Stadium. (NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats)

Carolina dropped their 5th straight, the longest such streak of the season. Kodi Medeiros (6 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 5 K) had his longest outing of the year. Two of the three hits were fly balls that could have been caught. Troy Stokes Jr lost one in the twilight and Trent Clark mis-played the other. Unfortunately, both happened in the 2nd inning when Winston-Salem scored all three of their runs off Medeiros. Quintin Torres-Costa (2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 1 K) took the loss in relief.

At the plate, Trent Clark was 2-4 with a double and a walk. Jose Cuas (1-4, HR) added a solo home run. Lucas Erceg (2-4, 2B), Jake Gatewood (2-3, 2B, BB) and Brandon Diaz (2-4) had multi-hit games.

Thanks again for our DSL coverage, Brad.

One thing I realized on Saturday was that in the 12-inning Friday night affair, it took five tries before a team scored in the new extra-inning format where a runner starts on second base to open the inning. Not going to see that often.

Final: Burlington 10, Wisconsin 9, ten innings

AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Soundcloud: "Chris Mehring and Kyle Lobner discuss a wild night at the ballpark for the Timber Rattlers that ended in a 10-9 loss in 12 innings to the Burlington Bees. There is audio from the clubhouse with Josh Pennington, Zack Brown, and Weston Wilson checking in with Kyle."

Do yourself a favor and listen to the first few minutes of the podcast (well, actually listen to the full show), but Chris' and Kyle's open gives you so much of what you need to know about this insane contest.

Wondering if RHP Andrew Vernon was actually on hand in time, he must have been, as the transaction was formally announced. Was one of them up and throwing as RHP Parker Berberet ran out of gas in the 12th?
