Side note:

How rare is a one-game series during the regular season in MLB?

I've been a Brewer fan for about 35 years and can't remember one.

Certainly feels more important then a full 3 game series.

There have been a few, but it takes a rain-out and a compatible day off. With Miller Park, there have been a lot fewer chances for this to happen over the last 15 years.

This does seem extra important for just one game in early July.

8 runs is fun. But let's not assume this one is over. Still a ton of game left. Wind blowing out and a lot of power for Chicago.

Be really, really awesome if Davies can put up a quick, scoreless inning - whenever we stop hitting that is :)

We’re going to score so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of scoring, you’re going to go ‘Please, please, we can’t score anymore.’ You’ll say ‘Please, Brewers, we beg you , we don’t want to score anymore. It’s too much. It’s not fair to everybody else.' And the Brewers are going to say ‘I’m sorry, but we’re going to keep scoring.'

The poetic justice of this game… the Cubs cancelling the other one “due to weather” to save their bullpen, making the Brewers travel down here for one game, etc…

Now let’s plaster them 20-0 and ruin their bullpen for the Pittsburgh series.
