Brewers Ballpark Pass

It's really hard to see the Brewers motivation for offering such a deal.

I noticed that all fans taking advantage of this HAVE to have the MLB.com Ballpark APP on their device.

I wonder if this is actually being pushed by MLB as a test in the first step in making all future tickets paperless.

That would be my guess.

I buy tickets where I want to watch the game from, so I have no problem asking others to move. If I go to a different seat it's right next to mine so there is more room for everyone. I stopped buying cheap tickets and looking for better seats once I became an adult.

Exactly the same for me.

That's great that we have a couple of adults on these forums.

Question: Do either of you have families that you buy nice seats for?

For starters, nice seats are anything lower than the Terrace Level and not in the Bleachers, IMO.

I just checked the cheapest "nice seats" for an upcoming series against the last place Phillies.

Loge outfield box= $40 each.

Family of Four with ticket fees and parking would cost about $200.

If you add in a meal or other in-game expenses your are talking about $300 to take a family of four to a Brewers game and sit in "nice seats".

I personally really like the Terrace Box seats for $25. They're $15 less than what you consider the threshold for "nice seats". I plan ahead, get front row seats in the upperdeck, have a great view of the whole park with no one sitting in front of me and in your situation you can save $60 on your tickets that way.

I love this deal. I rarely sit in my seat... or any seat during a game. Even when I had a 10 pack for several seasons on the first level, I would often walk around and watch the game while standing from different vantage points. On rare occasions on a weeknight, I might sit in a sparsely populated section for an inning but I sit at a desk all day and it's nice to stand and watch... especially with the tables/counters they have installed by the micro brew stand on the 2nd level, I now have a place to put my beer with a decent view of the game.

I don’t think you meant this as a slight… but it kind of sounds like you are suggesting to those that do this that it is a juvenile behavior and that is dangerous territory. Are we telling me people how to enjoy games now?

I am absolutely a ballpark roamer when I go to games. Part of the fun of it for my brother and I is to get a 360 view of the field throughout the day. Even though I’ve been to Miller Park countless numbers of times, I still like watching from behind the plate as well as down the lines and into the outfield bleachers. I love the different views. It doesn’t make sense for me, on any level, to buy a $40+ ticket if I am going to be wandering around AND then there is an empty seat closer to the field and that isn’t a good look either for the team.

.

It wasn't a shot at anyone, but the Brewers do have places you can stand to help get a 360 view of the field. I don't have a problem with people moving seats. I'm just not going to do it because that seat may have been purchased by someone else.

I agree if I lived closer to Milwaukee I would do this. I have no problem being in the standing room only spots.

To be fair...you used the word nice. I used the word better.

I do have a family and I often get tickets for friends as well. However, I typically get tickets in the bleachers because I prefer the view and easy access to bathrooms and drinks, but we will buy tickets in the 1st level infield seats a few times a year.

Yes, not a big family though. Just me, my wife, and my son...and now that my son is in college and can only attend a handful of games from our 20 game pack, we cut it down to 2 seats. Is your argument that if you can't afford something you should just take it anyways?

Sadly, I think that is exactly what he is saying. He is saying that his actions are justified.

There, however, are several ways the Brewers have made 2nd deck tickets (primarily) affordable. I went to 3 games in the the Loge Inf for $10 each by getting group tiix at a discount. Through BP and the Oldtime Ballplayers Association, I have been sitting in similar seats for a decade at half price. I go to others by StubHub for maybe $15 or slightly higher.

I have no problem with people moving around the upper levels to get some different views as generally those tickets are nearly the same price and there are large empty sections.

I do have a problem when I splurge on $100 seats and some people who paid $9 come down and sit near us and I am personally glad that the Brewers have a problem with this too as they should do what they can to protect the people paying those prices-especially the season ticket holders.

I mean, too bad if you have a family. My parents couldn't afford great seats at County Stadium so we were always in the bleachers or upper grandstand. Those seats were terrible but I was at a baseball game, so I didn't really care if they were terrible.

If you want to wait a few innings when the park is filled and then find a spot where there are some empty seats and move down there. Fine, whatever. Just don't friggin' sit in my seat before the game starts. That's annoying that I have to tell you to get out of my seat.

Brewers ushers seem to watch the entire Club level, Field Inf and Field Of like hawks.... many ushers around and check tix before you sit fairly often. They also watch Loge level infield behind the plate (where I usually sit) well. I'm surprised at the lack of ushers in the Loge down the lines and in bleacher area. It can get quite rowdy for some games there, and ushers have seemingly no clue what is going on, partly because one usher is watching 5 sections or so.... not sure how things are handled in the Terrace.

These Ballpark Pass buyers are simply NOT going to stand the whole game if they see open seats.

The Brewers know this.

They can hire as many "Mall Cop" ushers as they want and it won't matter.

I went to a game with my Dad vs the Pirates (the night of Santana's go ahead HR and Arcia's game-saver in the 9th) and since it was probably going to be our only game of the year we sprung for good seats from the re-sellers, in section 117. There were a couple Pirate fans who were constantly getting bumped out of seats in the section and finally in the 3rd inning they wound up right in front of us, couple of big tall guys. We were by the aisle which is already annoying with all the vendors and people blocking the view, this just was the icing on the cake. We moved about 8 seats to our left, as the mid row seats had stayed empty all game long. Watched the rest of the game from there right behind home plate. It was such a good call since the big guys stuck around and the girls to their immediate left were bombed by the 5th inning. Security hassled nobody, and I thought they certainly should have spotted the big Pirate clowns seat-crashing field level behind home plate if nothing else.

Not to be "that guy" but isn't it a bit dishonest to help yourself to something that you didn't pay for?

It might be but it is a little dishonest of the Brewers to sell these because those are the people they are marketing this to. They are giving a wink and a nod when they tell everybody to stay in the seat they bought.

Are They? I've bought SRO and stood the whole game. I'm not sure why it's hard to believe people would.

I agree they do a pretty good job around the more expensive seats. That was something that was implemented shortly after Mark A. bought the team-at least that's what my memory tells me.

The ushers have gotten exponentionally more strict in recent years. Now they ask for your ticket in the infield on the field level and a lot of time the loge level. It is kind of annoying sometimes to be honest. I hate getting asked for my ticket when I literally go in right away to go by the dugout or take a good loge level picture. Leave me alone unless the game is getting close. They aren't strict in the bleachers or terrace because there is a plethora of empty seats every game and they are cheap tickets. There isn't a need to be strict in these areas. I am not going to feel robbed if someone buys a cheap terrace ticket and they end up by me in the bleachers.

They must have had a softy usher in our section the night I went. They never even checked my ticket entering the section, in addition to letting obvious and very visible people sit where they shouldn't. I agree it's annoying when they do that, especially when I'm carrying things and have to stop to dig out a ticket stub and then hear somebody tell me how to find my seat like I've never been to a stadium before.

Most times if you walk in like you belong there, they don't hassle you.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Right, it's pretty easy to be inconspicuous. If you eye up the situation around the time the game is starting it's pretty easy to move down to where it's apparent that nobody will be sitting in a particular seat, yet close enough to other occupied seats that you blend in.

Not so much in the Club Level since you have to show your ticket indicating you belong up there at the Club Level entrance. I haven't had to show my ticket even once in the seating area the last several times I've gone.

Yet, only people with club tickets are there.. probably the most protected area in the park.
