Corey Knebel an All Star

It would be surprising if Kris Bryant is not voted in from the final 5.

All final 5 are deserving but I think having the mass of chicago fans behind him & being ROY & MVP the prior 2 seasons will garner much voting for Kris..

Too bad Shaw isn't in the Final Vote. On par or better than the others. Plus he's been anchoring our lineup all year, while Thames, Braun, Villar have been on the DL. Mark Reynolds plays in Colorado in a lineup with three other All-Stars (two starters) who haven't hit the DL once.

Happy for knebel, but i hope he doesnt pitch. He could use the time off.

Is anybody else bothered by how disrespected Brewer fans as well as other teams were during ESPNs announcement of the teams? We are fans of a first place team and our only all star was only mentioned on a list of 6 pitchers that were portrayed as the group that just filled out the roster. Did they have to interview the managers and players as long as they did. How does it hurt to give each all star and their fans the respect to profile them even if just a little bit. I don't even think it mentioned what team Knebel played for on the graphic.

We get so little as Brewer fans and we put just as much time into it as other fan bases. All I want is the respect that we are just as much part,of the league as other teams.

It's ESPN. Who cares? They think there are sports teams in only New York, Boston, LA, and Chicago.

They probably had Stephen A Smith gives his thoughts on the All Star team and weaved in some NFL coverage too.

Arcia should have made it. Shaw has nearly twice as many RBI as Bryant yet isn't in the final vote either. Well at least the Brewers can rest.

Arcia absolutely should not have made it. In addition to the huge RBI difference Shaw is also hitting like 25-30pts higher than Bryant but is 35 or so behind him in OBP. OPS is almost identical. I believe Shaw has more doubles and HR too. And he's on a 1st place team. It's a joke Shaw is not in the final 5 as Bryant shouldn't be there. Molina on the team is complete garbage too. Maybe he handed pencils that stuck to the punch hole next to his name.

Hopefully Knebel gets an early inning so I don't have to wait around 4hrs until he enters

It's great that Shaw's 1st half stats are comparable to Bryant's but if MLB is picking one of the two to go on the final vote ballot I can understand why they chose the defending MVP from the defending World Series Champions over a guy that isn't even on the Red Sox anymore.

I'm disappointed that Travis isn't on the final vote. I was going to vote but shut it down. If there were no Brewers there why should I.

ESPN only cares about pushing big city teams. I don't like any of their broadcasters and never watch. Today the first place Brewers will play the Orioles and is the free game on MLB.tv today.

Travis will have time to spend with his daughter. Eric can use the rest. Orlando will get there someday.

Only bothered by hearing "Neh-BULL" and "Kuh-NEE-Buhl". Like, hard to believe they've even watched the guy pitch when they can't even pronounce his name.

I guess I've just gotten used to the Brewers being overlooked on the national stage - it's not unlike what we went through 10 years ago when our first wave of prospects came up and we became competitive again (the exciting thing for us is that we really haven't tapped into our prospect pipeline yet, outside of Arcia). It comes with the territory. The economics of baseball put us at an enormous disadvantage. It should just make you appreciate being in 1st place this far into the season when nobody thought we would be, and it will make it our ascent to the top (hopefully) that much sweeter.

We will be in first place on Independence Day with a team that largely consists of reclamation projects that we wanted when nobody else did. That's worth more to me than what some talking head on TV has to say.

Good for Corey. I honestly don't really care. I haven't watched an all-star game (from any sport) in probably 10-15 years. I just find them boring.

But it's a nice feather in the guy's cap - and a deserved one. He's been great. Glad he's on our team.

Mark Reynolds is not deserving.

Also, a note to add: DJ LeMahieu is going to push some of the more hilarious players in the history of sports that lucked into incredible riches. Guy should be fighting for a spot in the majors right now and probably will amass $50-$100 million and 4 or 5 All-Star selections (if he stays in Colorado) in his career depending how stupid teams are when he becomes a free agent.

A .750 career OPS for DJ is nothing special and he's only hit double digit homeruns once in his career despite playing at Coors. Outside of a BA that jumped 50 points last year and in turn added 50 points to his OBP I don't even see a smokescreen that makes him look like a really good player.

If the only thing that counts is how well a player is doing so far this season players like Shaw have an argument over players like Bryant. But all stars should be judged on more than how well they do for the first half a season. Shaw was doing quite well the first half of last season as well and tanked the second half. As such I don't have a problem with guys like Bryant getting a shot over guys like Shaw. If Shaw puts together a good second half this season and maintains it through next he will get his shot.
There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Aaron Judge for the Yankees is a rookie having a fantastic first half. Corey Dickerson for Tampa is having a great first half. They are both All Stars. I don't care what Travis did the second half of last season. He is having a fantastic year for the Crew this year and deserves to be an All Star this year.

Justin Turner should also be an All Star. Bryant's numbers this year aren't as good.

All Stars should be having great years up to the game. Not resting on laurels from the past.
