Predict the Brewers July's Record

stalton

We used to do this back when the Brewers were more competitive and since they are being competitive, I figured we could give this a shot.

25 games.

2 Miami 1-1

3 Baltimore 2-1

1 @ Chubs 0-1

3 @ NY Yankees 2-1

3 Philly 1-2

4 @ Pitt 2-2

3 @ Philly 1-2

3 @ Washington 2-1

3 Chubs 2-1

That puts my guess at 13 and 12. What's your prediction?

I like the odds of the HR hitting picking up again with the hot summer weather. I'll take 13-12, 2-2 vs. the Cubs. One game back of the Cubs going into August.

2 Miami 0-2

3 Baltimore 1-2

1 @ Cubs 0-1

3 @ NY Yankees 0-3

3 Philly 2-1

4 @ Pitt 1-3

3 @ Philly 3-0

3 @ Washington 0-3

3 Cubs 0-3

7-18 in July. Let down in Miami starts the month off on a sour note ending with 0-6 record versus the Nationals and the Cubs at the end of July. Brewers are behind the Cubs still in 2nd somehow by 8 games.

I have 12-12. Cubs, Nats, Yankees, O's, and Pitt has been tough for Crew. If they escape even, that's a win. Biggest thing, avoid all sweeps.

14-10 is about as good as I can see happening.

8-16 worst case... maybe a benefit though, get people away from thought of us buying at deadline. Keep us on the plan.

2 vs. MIA (1-1)

3 vs. BAL (2-1)

1 @ CHC (1-0)

3 @ NYY (1-2)

3 vs. PHI (2-1)

4 @ PIT (1-3)

3 @ PHI (2-1)

3 @ WAS (0-3)

3 vs. CHC (2-1)

12-13 for July.

The road trips to Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Washington will be the make-or-break part of the month. I've got them going 3-7 during that period. Gain a split against the Pirates, sweep the Phillies, and pick up an unexpected win over the Nationals, and the month could be 14-11.

9-16. This bullpen is horrendous. Late in-game managing is horrendous. Just feels like a team that seems to find ways to lose 1 run ball games for a few days then win 10-2.

Cubs have it relatively easy in July and go 14-10. Brewers 4.5GB come August 1st.

If the Brewers can somehow manage to stay 2GB or less come August 1st, they got a chance to get to September square and make it interesting. Cubs have a devilish stretch from August 1 through 18 or so.

Talk about a roller coaster month. All in all, July's record ended up being 12 and 13. We had guesses from 9 and 16 to 16 and 9 with 2 people guessing 12 and 13 correctly (MDcrew and ReverendBrewmeister). I'll get August's prediction up later today.

Not as bad as I predicted. Off by 2 Games. 2.5GB and have a chance to be square come September 1 given Cubs difficult August.
