Final: New Orleans 4, Colorado Springs 1

Sox Fall In New Orleans

Cooper drives in 62nd run of season in third inning

Short and sweet on this low-scoring road game recap, so we'll save you a click and cut-and-paste here:

Garrett Cooper records RBI No. 62 of 2017 (in just 59 games played), but the New Orleans Baby Cakes took game two of the four-game series, 4-1, in front of 5,412 at the Shrine on Airline Friday night.

The Sky Sox (42-29) jumped on top first for the second time in the series in the third inning. After Ivan De Jesus reached on an infield single and Ryan Cordell lined a double off the glove of New Orleans first baseman Cal Towey, Cooper grounded out to third base but drove in De Jesus.

Final: Billings 8, Helena 5

Errors catch up to Brewers as Billings comes from behind to defeat Helena

So after reading the summary above, you realize this now 0-5 team led 3-0 after one inning, and then loaded the bases with no outs in the 9th, and failed to score. Just some real bad voodoo going on in Montana - so, when does the second half schedule start :( ?

What happened to Taylor Williams yesterday? After missing a couple of weeks, then the performance yesterday... I have a dreadful feeling that he is not right.

He reached a pitch limit - he was up to 28 pitches in the first, and remember there are also limits on individual innings, not sure he would have gone much more than an inning regardless. We have been told in quotes the Brewer beat guys have collected from front office personnel that Williams is fine.

Chock it up to ultra-conservatism on the Brewers' part - can't argue with that at this time.

I know he's on a pitch limit. I'm talking about only getting one out and giving up 3 walks, 3 hits, and 5 earned runs. That's not his MO.
