Final: DSL Astros Orange 7, DSL Indians/Brewers 1

The Astros jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first inning and never looked back, as they cruised to a 7-1 win over the Brewers co-op team.

DSL Indians/Brewers Box Score

Not much to highlight in this one. Catcher Bryan Torres singled and scored the only run for the Brewers. Edwin Sano picked up the only other base hit among Milwaukee farmhands while Luis Avila reached base once on a hit-by-pitch. 17-year-old Wilmy De Jesus worked three hitless innings of relief and converted outfielder Melvin Mendez went the final three innings, allowing one run.

Final: DSL Brewers 6, DSL Mets2 5 (10 Innings)

It took extras, but the Brewers plated a run in the bottom of the tenth to score a 6-5 win over the Mets, improving their record to 9-6 on the season.

DSL Brewers Box Score

Brayan Salaya got the start and went an inning and two-thirds, allowing one run before turning things over to the bullpen. Victor Vasquez allowed three runs over his four innings of relief work, but all three were of the unearned variety. Jenri Montes went the final 1.1 innings and was credited with the win. Outfielder Francis Florentino was the offensive star for the Brewers, going 2-for-3 with a double, triple, walk and a stolen base. Jean Carmona and Pablo Abreu each added a single and a walk.

DSL Brewers Game Log

The new extra innings format worked out well for the Brewers, as all it took was a base hit in the tenth to give them a victory.

Jeison Rodriguez starts inning at 2nd base.

Pedro Ventura reaches on a fielder's choice out, catcher Luis Avalo to third baseman Victor Maria. Jeison Rodriguez out at 3rd.

Offensive Substitution: Pinch-runner David Lozano replaces Pedro Ventura.

Jorge Martinez grounds into a force out, second baseman Luis Manon to shortstop Jean Carmona. David Lozano out at 2nd. Jorge Martinez to 1st.

Yoel Romero grounds out, second baseman Luis Manon to first baseman Aaron Familia.

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox pitching staff stranded nine Oklahoma City batters and held on late to secure a series win with a 4-3 victory over the Dodgers in front of 7,314 at Security Service Field Tuesday night.

The visitors from Oklahoma City loaded the bases three times in the series finale, but the combination of Taylor Jungmann (4-0, 1.03), Tristan Archer, Wei-Chung Wang, David Goforth and Rob Scahill (4, 0.93) held the potent Dodger offense to three runs and secured the first season-series win over Oklahoma City since 2010.

Learn about the offense at the link above - this is mentioned:

Actually, despite the mention above, a rough outing for Wang.

Final: Great Falls 13, Helena 1

On the bright side, consider it 9-1 as a position player was called on to take the mound in the 9th.

Even after just two games, not difficult to see that the original 26-man roster is in need of some reinforcement.

Midwest League All-Star Game

One of 13 pitchers for his team, Timber Rattler RHP Braden Webb retired his only batter (strikeout looking in the 4th), but his spot happened to coincide with getting the "W" next to his name.

18-year-old catcher Mario Felicano started, went 0-for-2 (K, groundout) with one stolen base against, but guided five pitchers well through his four innings (one run).

Wonder if now that All-Star break is over if Monte gets the bump back to his wave group. Not sure you send any of those current OFs down but with DH, you can rotate them all through the OF. Harrison is best defensive CF in the group.

Hopefully Griep gets the bump soon. He seems to be one of the top homegrown relievers we have brewing.
