I have no idea why this question just popped into my head as we struggle daily to find a preferred batting order...

If you had your pick of Brewers over the last 30 years to start today.. what does your lineup look like? Does Hamilton lead off against the righty? Is it still Molitor? Does Yount bat #2? #5?

What platoon lefties did we have that crushed RHP but couldn't play full time because they couldn't hit lefties? What is our optimal lineup against righties in this scenario?

Obvious guys like Braun and Fielder are in this lineup but I'm looking for some non obvious guys that smoked RHP that I may have forgotten about...

You should make a thread for it. A Weeks/Gennett platoon would be a good duo to prefer. The defense is meh, but not like recent memory has many great 2nd baseman. JJ Hardy at SS. Carlos Gomez in CF. You know assuming I get the prime of these players.

I don’t get the Franklin stuff anymore. He is never going to play the infield again .. so why not just replace him with Kyle Wren? The 4th OF job is what Kyle Wren is going to do in the future… just do it now?

Definitely agree. Franklin just shouldn't be on the roster. Worse yet, Counsell consistently uses him as the first bat off the bench.

Hopefully it all works itself out. Braun and Villar should be back soon. And they'll need roster spots. Brinson likely gets sent back down, but the other one should be Franklin. Of course, this is about the fourth time this scenario has unfolded and each time someone else has gotten hurt or got sent down and he's amazingly held onto his roster spot, despite doing nothing on the field to deserve it.

Embarrassing performance by Davies.

At home vs mediocre team and they get blown out last night and now this.....

Everyone got all excited about the upcoming schedule. Too bad they can't win at Miller Park.
