DFE story posted

Since I previously brought up former Brewers draftee I thought I would point out his most recent start:

9 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 13 K, 2 BB

Again, he plays on the same team as DFE Justin Sarka, although I'm sure plenty of people including the Brewers know about him. His season stats:

5-0, 44 IP, 1.23 ERA, .155 BAA, 24 H, 69 K, 13 BB, 4 CG, 2 SHO

The way he's pitching he could be a first-rounder given his size & stuff. Oh yeah, and he's a lefty http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .

Ray Liotta isn't one of our DFEs, but his performance so far has got to be noted. I've emailed a few people about what he's done so far, and I seem to be the only person that has taken notice. His last outing:

7 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 10 K, 1 BB

I'll try to update some of the stats for our actual DFEs this week when (& if) the stats become available.

Updates on some of our DFEs:

Luke Cannon: hitting .351 with a .470 OBP. Has 5 HRs, 6 2Bs & 1 3B, but has had 5 HRs & 4 2Bs since the first week or two of the season, so I think it's obvious teams are pitching around him.

Jared Theodorakos: has gotten into 2 ballgames, both starts. Won both of those games: 8 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 5 K, 4 BB.

Chad Miller: has rebounded after a slow start: .271/.323/.364, 1 HR, 8 2B. Only play on his team to play in each of the team's 30 games.

Justin Wilson: still hasn't appeared yet this season.

Clay Blevins: hitting .354/.466/.521, 5 2B, 1 HR.

Justin Sarka: 4.20 ERA in 7 games, 2 starts. 15 IP, 13 H, 12 K, 3 BB

Jared Theodorakos continues to pitch well as he stretch out his arm. He won his third consecutive game the other day, working 5 scoreless innings vs. TCU:

Nice action shot of Jared. His line on the year:

3-0, 0.00 ERA, 13 IP, 10 H, 10 K, 5 BB

It would be nice to see him creep into the weekend rotation to see what he can do against some of their bigger opponents. I'm sure Coach Hill just wants him to build up arm strength at this point in time.

Chad Miller slowly but surely pushes his batting average up a little more:

.285/.329/.394

Justin Wilson finally got into a game. Nice to finally see his name with some stats behind it:

1-0 in his only start, 4.50 ERA, 2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 K, 2 BB

Clay Blevins has slid a little bit, but still is hitting over .300, although he has committed 10 errors:

.318/.423/.485

Justin Sarka continues to see most of his time out of the bullpen. Nice to see those low walk totals even if that ERA isn't pretty. However as a reliever your ERA can go up & down pretty easily even if you give up only 1 run:

9 G, 2 GS, 5.71 ERA, 17.3 IP, 18 H, 13 K, 3 BB

And my usual props to Ray Liotta: In his last 2 starts Liotta has given up a few more runs than what we have been used to so far this year, as his ERA soared to 1.90. Those last 2 starts:

15.3 IP, 12 H, 14 K, 6 BB

Season line:

66.3 IP, 1.90 ERA, 36 H, 93 K, 20 BB

  • 2 weeks later...

Luke Cannon:

.333 batting average, .480 OBP in 105 AB, 7 2B, 8 HR, 31 RBI.

Jared Theodorakos:

3-1, 3.38 ERA, 5 games, all starts, 21.1 IP, 24 H, 17 K, 9 BB, .289 BAA.

Chad Miller:

.277/.314/.367. He may not be hitting lights out, but he is leading is team in ABs (166) and as is the only player on his team to appear in every game so far this season.

Justin Wilson:

3 appearances, 1.12 ERA, 8 IP, 4 H, 6 K, 7 BB.

Clay Blevins:

.304/.434/.457 in 92 AB.

Justin Sarka:

19.1 IP, 21 H, 5.59 ERA, 13 K, 3 BB. Justin has only appeared in 1 game since my last update.

Ray Liotta (not our DFE candidate, but why stop now?):

6-4, 2.55 ERA, 77.2 IP, 59 H, 105 K, 24 BB. Liotta hasn't been as sharp his last 4 games as he was in his first 6. His season numbers still look extremely strong.

***Added Theodorakos' updated stats.
