I'm not sure why we would be interested except that he is a former Brewer...

He had a few good years relieving, but has a very high walk rate (4BB/9IP). Previously, his K rate could cover that (8+/9IP). Now, at 33 years old, his K rate has dropped (5.8 this year 5.4 last).

In a couple weeks after getting him, people would be griping about why Stearns bothered. We are better off looking at AAA for new arms.

Exactly. Unless there's something the front office sees in a struggling player like Wilhelmsen, just move on to someone who has some upside and could potentially help you beyond 2017.

I know its not logical, but I'd like to scratch that itch. I'm a huge sucker for Wilhemson. In my early Brewerfan.com days, after Matt Yeatman was dealt for Matt Kiney, I was all in on the Wilhemson train. Through the beauty of Brewerfan I've kept tabs on his comeback and my flame still burns.

Ok so I just looked up Dennis Sarfate and he is still pitching in Japan and putting up absurdly good numbers. He has had an ERA under 2 four seasons in a row, not including this year where his ERA is a hair above 1. So seriously, let's go get Dennis Sarfate.
