runner at 3rd, less than two outs, take strike three down the middle

To be fair, it was one out, but 2 strikes when the runner got to third. It isn't like he had a full at bat with a runner on 3rd and 1 out.

So he shouldn't change his approach when the runner gets to 3rd? The runner was on 3rd when he stared at strike 3, that's what matters.

Man, it must be just awesome to have a guy like Jensen to give the ball to. So dominant.

Sucks to waste a great start by Jimmy. Hopefully the bats will come loose tomorrow.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Incredible how a player can take a called 3rd strike in a 1 run game in extras with a runner on 3rd and 1 out. Just incredible.

That's what happens when you are guessing. The pitch Arcia let go was the only time Jensen bust him down low and in. Can't guess up there.

yeah. that was baad. If the bases were loaded, it is almost excusable, but right there you have to get the bat on the ball. Even a foul ball! Or even swinging at a perfect knee buckling breaking ball just outta the zone! But watching a fastball right down the middle with a guy on 3rd and 1 out is the epitome of modern baseball. Just ******* horrible.

That was a mistake, too. The catcher was setting up high.

Who is the next man up as closer

Really? Knebel has been lights out for 2 months straight, and blows one save and you want to ditch him as the closer? That's kind of a knee jerk reaction, isn't it?

He shouldn't be removed as closer but it's not just one save. He is 4 of 7 in his opportunities.

As one other poster said to me on another board - this was Knebel's 3rd blown save this year.

Nevermind his first BS was in the 7th inning on opening day and he pealed off 11 straight holds before being named closer.....
