Andersons last 23 starts are pretty good.

I think you are way out of whack. But, I will say his last 2-3 starts have been pretty good. ;)

You should probably check his last 23 starts including today. 120 innings pitched 40 earned runs. Maybe I'm doing the math wrong?

The Brewers have just been really struggling to score lately. So many spots lately where we can't get a clutch hit, can't get a sac fly, etc. Several double plays too. Frustrating.

Be really nice to find a way to get a couple of insurance runs here.

Edit: Bandy chases ball 4 and can't drive in the run. Feels like we're about 0 for our last 10 in this series with a man on third and less than 2 outs. We easily could have 6-7 runs here, hope it doesn't bite us.

Absolutely terrible Bandy

Working a 10 pitch at bat is not terrible. Not always going to come through in those spots. Last I checked they are major league pitchers out there too.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

It was terrible. Racking up a pitch count is pretty meaningless when it is a reliever.

Que the bullpen to ruin this one.

And all he needed was to put a ball in play, if there's a runner at 3rd with less than two outs and you strike out, its a terrible at bat, doesn't matter how many pitches it goes.

I'm on gamecast. Was the Mets infield actually playing back? If not, he really can't just put it in play, he has to make sure it is at minimum a fly ball to the OF, that is not as easy as trying to punch it to the 2B.

Infield was in.

Right, and lineouts aren't going to get it done either. There is luck involved. The infield was in, so a ball hit right at one of them probably doesn't get the run in either, but it's a lot easier to get a hit through with the drawn in infield.

The point is there have been way too many missed opportunities lately when all we needed was a ball in play to get a run in.

If it was that easy to put the ball in play it'd happen every time. I love when people act as though this game is easy. Pure ignorance to how tough this skill really is against the best in the world.
