Stupid not to just let Anderson bunt with two strikes. Chase Anderson isn't touching Zack Wheeler swinging and even if he did it would likely gift the Mets a double play.

AND of course Sogard gets a hit.

To play devils advocate, the Sogard ball is likely an out if the 1b isn't holding the runner on. Can't say for sure, but it certainly seemed like it. That said, I agree with you 100% that Anderson should have still tried to bunt.

Sogard comment was unrelated to the Anderson comment.

Hey Craig, way to leave your guy out there to get tossed.

I'm not even watching and just from seeing how far outside it was on Gameday I figured, 'Shaw is going to get tossed on that .'

Gamecast only here. Please explain?

Shaw struck out looking and was quite upset. I think most umpires would have tossed him immediately. He was still jawing back to the dugout and Craig was no where to be seen. I figured when they came back from commercial they were going to say Shaw got tossed but somehow he didn't.

If he wasn't going to get tossed for screaming and swinging his bat around I am not sure he could get tossed even if he really tried.

I find it extremely hysterical when everyone cries for machines when a call goes against us, but I never hear it mentioned when the call goes our way.

Come hang out with me and my buddies. :)

Balls and strikes are called terribly quite often.

Gee, does that really need explaining? Obviously it's human nature to complain more about calls that go against your team than the competition, but I have no problem pointing it out when we benefit from a call as well.

Doesn't change the fact that the human called 'strike zone' is extremely flawed and entirely subjective and in 2017 they do have the technology to correct that, making a human called Strike zone a completely obsolete and unnecessary aspect of the game.

Games are riding on it. They have Pitch f/x now. It doesn't just need to be a fun tool for viewers anymore.

At the very least, it will get to a point where challenges will be allowed on certain key situations like the one we just saw, which will be well worth it even just for the satisfaction of seeing how embarrassingly badly they are missing some of these.

Explanation for those watching gamecast:

-Anderson pops it up just down the firstbase side

-Pitcher, catcher, and firstbaseman all let it fall

-Catcher picks it up stares at 2nd

-decides not to get double play chance

-double clutches to first

-Anderson safe

Sogard play:

-pop up to corner of the dugout

-batboy is a lost puppy

-picks up his chair trying to get away

-runs into Flores right as he is about to catch it

-umpire calls interference on the batboy(seriously)

-crew chief comes over to talk about the stupid call he just made

-they correct call to just a foul ball

-Terry Collins livid and gets ejected

So how is the ball boy any different than a fan or coach preventing a catch from being made? If Flores runs into Sedar trying to make a catch and can't it's an out.

3.15 No person shall be allowed on the playing field during a game except players and coaches in uniform, managers, news photographers authorized by the home team, umpires, officers of the law in uniform and watchmen or other employees of the home club. In case of unintentional interference with play by any person herein authorized to be on the playing field (except members of the team at bat who are participating in the game, or a base coach, any of whom interfere with a fielder attempting to field a batted or thrown ball; or an umpire) the ball is alive and in play. If the interference is intentional, the ball 28 Rule 3.10 to 3.15 shall be dead at the moment of the interference and the umpire shall impose such penalties as in his opinion will nullify the act of interference.

Well then we need to train our bat boys to run around all confused like every time the our batters hit a foul ball near them.

Why does he need to play when we have so many better options and everyone can still get plenty of days off by rotating them all? He should be happy getting the big league check and just being there for emergency due to his positional flex. Sogard took his spot by massively outplaying him, that's the way she goes sometimes. That said, the way CC has been going Frankling will get 3 hits today.

2/2 with a walk so far. Craiger is a wizard.
