How does that work in MiLB with the Sky Sox losing 5-0 when the game was suspended in the 1st yesterday? Do they leave off where they were or is that just wiped out like MLB would with nothing counting from yesterday?

They will pick up from where they left off.

And again, that's Tuesday. Sunday's doubleheader is two fresh seven-inning games.

Coulter hasn't started since 5/25 with a PH appearance yesterday. Injury?

Wilkerson pitching a beauty. Not much support, but Biloxi scores two in the 6th without getting a RBI on a couple of wild pitches.

Biloxi Shuckers Box Score

Quick Summary:

Aaron Wilkerson was on his game once again. Wilkerson, acquired in a package that sent away Aaron Hill last July, followed up his Pitcher of the Week performance with another gem. Today he recorded a season high 9 K's. It was a quiet day offensively, scoring 2 run, but it was enough to record the win.

Pitching Summary:

On the mound, Aaron Wilkerson (6.2 IP, 4 H, ER, 9 K) started the game while Tyler Scott (1.1 IP, 2 K), and Matt Ramsey (1 IP, 1 K) followed him.

Hitting Summary:

Dustin DeMuth (2-4, 2B, R)

Johnny Davis (1-4, 2B)

Final, Game One: Colorado Springs 8, Nashville 0

De Jesus, Garcia homer to back Woodruff's gem

By Robby Veronesi / Colorado Springs Sky Sox

Brandon Woodruff tossed six one-hit innings to earn his second win against the Sounds in as many starts. (Paat Kelly photo from prior home game)

Brandon Woodruff allowed one hit in six innings, and the bottom third of the order combined for five RBI to lead the Colorado Springs Sky Sox to an 8-0 shutout over the Nashville Sounds in game one of Sunday's doubleheader at First Tennessee Park.

Rest of Robby's always-thorough recap at the link above...

Colorado Springs Game One Box Score

Nate Orf batting .350 in May, 24 of 28 hits are singles, his career SLG is only .380, it's .400 thus far in 2017. On the other hand, Brett Phillips is making loud contact -- slugging .605, with over 50% of his knocks going for extra bases. But 53 K's in in 152 AB's is tough on the overall line. I think we've learned the kind of pro Maverick is going to be. Will Phillips make the kind of strides Domingo Santana is making once he reaches the big league level?

Colorado Springs Game One Game Log

Adjustments, baby! Well, we assume so, right?

In Brandon Woodruff's three prior starts, he allowed 22 hits in 16 innings. On Sunday, one hit in six frames.

Here's the lone base hit Brandon Woodruff surrendered today, immediately followed by video of the full at-bat that followed:

Did you notice how first baseman Garrett Cooper towered over the Sounds at the end of that clip?

The Mudcats scored 3 in the bottom of the 6th inning to break a 1-1 tie and take the lead for good. Jordan Yamamoto (4 2/3 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 7 K) got the start. Brad Kuntz came in to record the last out of the 5th and strand a pair of runners. Kodi Medeiros (3 1/3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K) followed and got the win. Nate Griep recorded the final two outs to pick up his 9th save.

The Mudcats struck out 16 times on the night, including 13 against starter Thomas Hatch. Hatch was the Cubs' third round draft pick last year and is now 0-5 this year. Isan Diaz struck out 3 times and Luis Aviles took the golden sombrero. Troy Stokes Jr. (1-2, 2 BB, SB) and Lucas Erceg (3-4, 2B) both reached base 3 times. Erceg's double in the 6th gave the Mudcats the lead. Trent Clark followed with a home run to left field to complete the scoring. Trent Clark now has 5 home runs this year. He has 6 the rest of his professional career.

Clinton Clubs Rattlers 9-2

LumberKings take early lead and never look back

Wisconsin Boxscore

Lately when the Rattlers have lost, they have for the most part *really* lost. If you're going to do something, go all the way with it, right? Their prior loss was 15-2, and two losses before that they capitulated 12-2. They also were bested twice by Clinton a few weeks ago at home, 15-3 and 10-3.

Miguel Sanchez made just his second career start, and it did not go well. Not sure if they plan on getting him in the rotation permanently or if it was just spot start as they sort out the rotation in a post-Supak world. The two guys who followed Sanchez, Parker Berberet & Andrew Vernon, wouldn't seem likely to move into a tandem starting pitcher role, but who knows.

If it was just a spot start for Sanchez, Rattler pitchers currently on the DL are Josh Pennington, Victor Diaz, and Jordan Desguin. Starting pitcher types who are on the Helena roster and may or may not be healthy include Rodrigo Benoit, Karsen Lindell, Scott Serigstad, Michael Peterson, Nash Walters, Christian Trent, Drake Owenby, and Jake Drossner. There are some more guys on the AZL roster as well that theoretically by called up. The long awaited debut of Daniel Missaki perhaps?

Oh, and the offense played today too. Debuting Rattler Trey York went 0-2, though he did walk twice. Joantgel Segovia, Trever Morrison, and Ronnie Gideon all had two hits, and one of Gideon's was a double. Kind of a depressing statistic to keep track of, but today the Rattlers had only two players in the lineup finish the game with a sub .200 batting average, and one of them was York. There have been times it's been 4 or 5 guys, so progress!

Another little tidbit, the LumberKings had 4 Latin American amateur free agent signees in their lineup. The Rattlers had one (Segovia). Also, you have to give Rayder Ascanio a better player profile picture than that, guys. "This is not in focus at a......h, screw it."

Wisconsin Game Log

Death blow:

Clinton Bottom of the 2nd

Luis Rengifo doubles (8) on a fly ball to right fielder Demi Orimoloye.

Dimas Ojeda flies out to left fielder Joantgel Segovia.

Kristian Brito singles on a line drive to left fielder Joantgel Segovia. Luis Rengifo scores.

Luis Liberato triples (6) on a fly ball to right fielder Demi Orimoloye. Kristian Brito scores.

Rayder Ascanio walks.

With Bryson Brigman batting, Rayder Ascanio steals (8) 2nd base, Luis Liberato scores. Throwing error by catcher Mario Feliciano.

Bryson Brigman homers (1) on a fly ball to left field. Rayder Ascanio scores.

Anthony Jimenez singles on a line drive to center fielder Monte Harrison.

Nick Zammarelli flies out to center fielder Monte Harrison.

With Nick Thurman batting, Anthony Jimenez advances to 2nd on a balk.

Nick Thurman strikes out swinging.

Short and sweet at the link above, but learn which pitcher took the walkoff loss...

Colorado Springs Game Two Box Score

RHP Oliver Drake can't afford many more appearances like Sunday's (didn't retire any of five batters), because RHP Michael Blazek is primed to be re-added to the 40- and 25-man rosters based on his work this spring.
