Thanks for bunting, Cubs

I can see why it took Espino 10 years to get to the majors. Nothing is overly impressive about him. Glad he's getting his chance but he's just a guy.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Not to rain on the Espino love (myself included) but we've probably seen enough at this point that I don't see who we'd take out of the rotation to keep him up after this game.

I'm only following on Gameday but he seems to be missing way out of the zone a LOT, and getting a lot of help from the Cubs on bunt blunders and from the heavy inward wind. Guerra will be ready with the off day Monday to start in his spot next, and Davies/Nelson seem to have saved their spots for now.

Still glad he's getting the chance and hope to see him again at some point, but doubt that he stays up now.

Yeah, not even sure he's an improvement over Peralta.

What a sweet swing for Shaw against a lefty. Not trying to do too much. Very impressive.

Yeah, he seems like a AAAA 6th/7th organizational depth starter to me like Burgos. Not someone who really is going to stick, but glad he got a shot.

The only love is from the broadcast trying to put lipstick on a pig. I think everyone here that's watching the game realizes he isn't good.

Shaw with his hitting streak intact against the lefty. Now it's raining and I hope they can get this game in when and if they suspend it because of the rain and gusty wind.

Gotta score one here. It would really suck to get washed out and lose a 5 inning game because of one bad inning and a cheap error.

The end of the rain is in Joliet. Even if they go into a rain delay, it's not going to last long enough for them to call the game.

Good to hear. Augie keeps making it sound like it's the worst conditions he's ever seen.
