Hypothetical: What do we do if we have too many good outfielders?

MrTPlush

By what criteria is Cordell ready right now? He has 120ish PAs above AA. And a 773 OPS in about 60 road PAs in AAA.

Is it because he's 25? What else?

Any significant outfield roster pressure is still at least a year out. I'm not opposed to trading Santana or Broxton, or any of the Colorado Springs OFs for that matter, but if Stearns stays true to his word, he's not going to dump any controllable players, either.

Edit: And there's actually my answer to the question. If it becomes the case that there are too many outfielders for outfield spots, Stearns will trade whichever one(s) he can get the most value/control back for.

Santana seems to be hardly blocking anyone. He shows just enough flash to be given more chances but he is playing like a 1 WAR player with negative defensive WAR in RF

As soon as Brinson is deemed ready and/or it is OK for the Brewers to start his clock he'll be up.
