AUDIO via the City of Biloxi: Although not player-specific in any way, this 26-minute interview with the Voice of the Shuckers, Chris Harris, is a fine listen if you're simply a fan of the operation aspect of a minor league team (start at the 03:30 minute mark) -- and the interviewer is enthusiastic and sounds like somebody you might want to hang with...

Sky Sox Double Up Dodgers in 15-3 Romp

Colorado Springs hits back-to-back home runs for first time since 2015.

Colorado Springs Box Score

15 runs. 17 hits. Not a lot more is needed to be said about the Sky Sox barrage in a 15-3 crushing of the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

Hitting highlights? Lots of them. Lewis Brinson (2-5, 2B), Eric Sogard (3-6, 2 2B), Ryan Cordell (3-5, 2B), Garrett Cooper (2-6, 2B, HR, 4 RBI), Kirk Nieuwenhuis (3-5, 2B, HR), Kyle Wren (2-4, BB) and Yadiel Rivera (2-5, 2B). And lets not forget the starting pitcher - Brent Suter went 2-3. In fact, all the starters had at least two hits - with the exception of Andrew Susac (1-5) - although Susac did drive in a pair of runs with his lone hit.

On the mound, Suter (5.0 IP, 4 hits, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) was solid, while the bullpen of Tyler Cravy (2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 3K), Stephen Kolscheen (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 3K) and Michael Blazek (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1K) finished off the laugher.

The Sky Sox are hitting this year. Seven of the regulars (Brinson, Cooper, Wren, Rivera, Phillips, Cordell, Sogard) have a batting average of .295 or better.

Ryan Cordell play 3B on Friday - the second time this year he has manned the hot corner. He has also played all three OF positions. No doubt the Brewers would like him to display as much versatility as possible.

Clark and McDowell combine for six RBIs in a 12-9 home loss

The Keys scored five runs in the first and held on for a 12-9 series leveling win

By Greg Young / Carolina Mudcats | May 6, 2017 12:15 AM ET

Max McDowell batting for the Carolina Mudcats at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C. (NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats)

Eric Hanhold and Colton Cross gave up 10 runs in 3 innings on 10 hits and 4 walks. Kodi Medeiros (5 IP, 2 R, 5 H, 3 BB, 5 K) followed with at least a little success and Scott Grist finished off the 9th.

Luis Aviles (2-6, 2B, 4 K), Jake Gatewood (2-4, 2 2B, BB), Trent Clark (3-4, HR, BB), Max McDowell (3-5) and Carlos Belonis (2-5) lead the Mudcats comeback attempt but the rally fell short. There were strong winds blowing out to left field which carried a few balls deep and led to some trouble fielding.

Final: Montgomery 5, Biloxi 4

Late rally dooms Shuckers against Biscuits on Friday

Shuckers lose despite solo homers from Reed, Charles and Betancourt

From that very thorough game summary you just read --

Javier Betancourt tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning with his first home run of the year off Edwin Fierro (W, 3-0). But in the top of the seventh, Jon Perrin allowed four baserunners and departed with the lead at just 4-3 with two runners on base. Forrest Snow (L, 1-2) entered and allowed a sacrifice fly to bring in the tying run, but the fly ball could have been far more damaging if not for a running catch in the gap by Johnny Davis.

And here you go --

Biloxi Box Score

Did we ever learn if Dustin DeMuth related to umpire Dana? Dustin born in Indiana, Dana Ohio.

Biloxi Game Log

Great catch aside, Johnny Davis' horrific start at the plate -- .179/.207/.250 (.457 OPS!) is not being aided by a recent bump to the leadoff spot, 0-for-5 here...

Final: Dayton 7, Wisconsin 0

Dragons beat Rattlers 7-0

Two Dayton pitchers combine on four-hit shutout

Look for the Monte Harrison catch at the 1:00 minute mark!

AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Blog Podcast: "Chris & Kyle Lobner discuss Friday's 7-0 loss to Dayton and have interviews with David Burkhalter, Demi Orimoloye, and Matt Erickson."

Wisconsin Box Score

As noted in the tail end of the audio podcast, nice job by RHP Andrew Vernon in his recent "limit the damage" middle relief role; RHP David Burkhalter with a fine "welcome back" three-inning stint...

Att: 4,550. Impressive for first week of May, too bad it wasn't a better game...

Wisconsin Game Log

Rattlers drew one walk and fanned 11 times; Gilbert Lara fanned all three times up, and his stint with Wisconsin thus far is very reminiscent of 2015 Monte Harrison and Jake Gatewood, and two years later, look where those two are.

By the way, on a Mudcats note, who had Gatewood in the 2017 Brewers Minor League Player of the Year Award? Wow!
