Wind shifted this morning. It's out of the north east now and pretty chili. Might not be a lot of long balls tonight.

(Watch Thames hit three now)

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Thames and Braun could be a fun duo for the next few seasons if we go that route.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Why did Bandy field that behind the plate? Great throw from Broxton

Does it not seem like we usually win with Pina and lose with Bandy? I'm not saying there's a correlation, it just does seem like it to me.

Why did Bandy field that behind the plate? Great throw from Broxton. Subpar defense from Bandy on 2 plays allows a run

The throw wasn't perfect though. It bounced in such a horrible spot and caused Bandy to get it too far back. Trying to pick and tag that in front of the plate would have been one heck of a play.

Guess Bandy really did not like that comment.

Right, but fielding it behind the plate on the long hop gives you no chance at the out. He has to go do or die on the tough hop in front of the plate. 10% chance for an out is better than 0%

End of the day I don't really care because he was going to be safe regardless. Not going to lose sleep over it.
