They do have a consequence, they can't challenge again unless it's an official review. Come on, this would be like ejecting a wide receiver in the NFL who tiptoed the sidelines and thought he made a catch and told the coach to throw the red flag and ends up upheld.

Replay is here to stay. Just part of the game now. They are never going to remove players from the game because of a failed challenge.

I dont think it will happen it just should. If you are complaining about tiptoeing on the line that should not be a reviewable play because it would not be an obviously horrible call. Replay should only be used for things that you can tell are wrong with your bare eyes watching in real time. If you need to consult a slow mo instant replay its too close just move on

If you used it only on things you can tell with your eyes in real time are wrong, you'd be using it once a month or so and might as well get rid of it. The game happens so fast and the point of replay is to slow it down and correct the call. When Broxton stole 2nd in the 8th or 9th last night I thought it was clear that he was safe. When they went to review it was clear he was out. They got the call right and it did not take a ridiculous amount of time.

I'm all for sticking to the 2 minute time limit and sticking with the call if you find yourself splitting hairs, but the whole benefit of having a replay system is to be able to slow it down and get the call right. The vast majority of calls aren't 100% obvious in real time. Most become much more obvious when you slow it down.
