Brewers Record: 77-85

Playoffs: No

Brewers MVP: Broxton

Brewers CY Young: Jimmy Nelson (he looked for me last year in 1st half)

Brewers ROY: Josh Hader

First player traded: In season trade: Garza (That or cut for Hader has a spot)

Surprise player: Shaw (recovers from his downfall last season)

Disappointing player: Arcia (Don't see him hitting over .240 or OBP over .300, bats lagging still)

World Series: Cubs over Someone in AL

Only 2 ways this team can go.

Brewers Records

66-96 or 84-78

Playoffs:No either way

Brewers MVP: Can only be Broxton. Villar would have to clean up his mental errors.

Brewers CY: Zach Davies

Brewers ROY: Manny Pina finally getting his chance

First Player traded: Matt Garza

Surprise Player: Jesus Aguilar

Disappointing players: That w/l difference is on the Bullpen 18games worse if not good.

WS guess: Pittsburgh vs Seattle and Pittsburgh winning.

Pittsburgh finally gets Cole and Taillon to pitch a year together. Josh Bell's bat at 1b along with McCutchen's return to MVP help propel the offense further than last year. And of course the big add down the stretch is Tyler Glasnow making a fearsom trio that can't be beat in the 2017 playoffs. 5 games Pitt wins at home.

Brewers Record: 70-92

Playoffs: No

Brewers MVP: Villar

Brewers CY Young: Davies

Brewers ROY: Josh Hader

First player traded: Santana

Surprise player: Thames

Disappointing player: Broxton

World Series: Royals over Dodgers

I'm proud to say that it would take an absolute nose dive for the Brewers to get what I predicted. I'm fine with being woefully wrong.

Hey, your 'surprise player' prediction is looking good. :)

After the Colorado series I literally laughed at myself for predicting 83-79. Now I'm thinking I coulda been right. Lot of Baseball left to be played though

Actual results: (so far)

Brewers record: 29-25

Playoffs: YES

Brewers MVP: Thames

Brewers Cy Young: Gotta be Chase Anderson, right?

Brewers Rookie of the Year: Who is even eligible? Espino, Suter, and Barnes? So it'd have to be Barnes.

First player traded: Magnifico

Surprise player: Thames

Disappointing player: Villar

World Series: Astros over??

Corey Knebel could easily be our Cy Young.

+1 on that.

Surprise player is Sogard. Who saw that coming?! .410/.566/.667

Edited to add: if Sogard went 3 for his next 30 with zero walks he'd still be hitting .275 with a .395 OBP (!)

Sogard has been an amazing story but at this point in the season if I gotta award surprise player I'd give it to the KBO veteran with 166 ABs and a 1.000+ OPS rather than the guy with 39.

Yep, that makes sense.... it sure was good to see Thames hit a HR recently. He's been struggling and looked like he was starting to chase a little. I think he's legit as long as he stays within his approach

Barnes would not qualify, probably Pina.

Brewers record: 75-87

Team MVP: Braun

Team Cy Young: Davies (Rotation)

Team Rolaids: Suter (takes closer role by mid-season)

Brewers ROY: Suter (see Team Rolaids winner)

First traded: Garza (spring training)

Surprise player: Thames (becomes excellent middle of the order bat)

Disappointing: Susac/Bandy (we will miss Lucroy)

Prospects who rocket up the list: Ronnie Gideon (75 power tool), Weston Wilson (versatility and power bat)

Disappointing prospects: Meideros, Kirby

Off on record, MVP, Cy Young, Rolaids, and ROY to date.

Wrong on the first to be dealt, too.

Did call the surprising/disappointing so far this year.

Brewers Record: 86-76

Playoffs: Yes

Brewers MVP: Ryan Braun

Brewers CY Young: Wily Peralta

Brewers ROY: Josh Hader

First player traded: Villar

Surprise player: Brandon Woodruff

Disappointing player: Travis Shaw

World Series: Red Sox over Cubs

I think that the Brewers will surprise this year. A lot of youth, and I see a setback for the Cardinals/Pirates. I think Hader is the ROY, possibly in a closer role. I think Woodruff is up early, and a steady pitcher for the year. Not flashy, but good, a la Davies. I think Peralta found his groove, and goes on a run. I think Braun is Braun. I think the team tires of Villar, and moves him, even though he plays well. I think Shaw becomes the new Wes Helms, a placeholder. Not so much disappointing, but I think the team will overachieve, and he'll be back in the pack. Won't be surprised if Perez winds up as the everyday 3B. I think Santana stays healthy, and that Arcia is ok.

So far, I like my predictions on record and the dive for PIT/STL. Was way off on Peralta and Shaw. Happy to be wrong about Shaw!
