Hernan Perez a trade option for the Dodgers?

I am surprised Hernan Perez is not more of a trade target for the Dodgers. The Dodgers are looking for a way to acquire a second baseman without giving up Bellinger, DeLeon or Verdugo.

On paper, it looks as if the plan for Perez is to start at 3rd base versus lefties. And maybe as insurance for Arcia. Villar would slide over to short and Perez to second but they even have Scooter to cover second. We also have Brinson and others OF's in our minors that can cover the OF depth, so he is not needed as much as OF depth. I know that Perez is cheap and young and also has quite a bit of value. But he is still a part time player.

5 extremely positives for Perez and a Dodger connection: The Dodgers NEED a second baseman, they could use speed on the basepaths as they were 27th in SB's last year, The Dodgers NEED another right handed bat in that lineup, Perez is cheap which is a huge plus for the Dodgers in luxury tax penalties and finally Perez is young. Perez fits all of the criteria in what the Dodgers would want in a second baseman. It almost makes more sense than a Braun to the Dodgers trade.

I could see a deal of Perez for a combo of Brock Stewart, Josh Sborz and Jacob Rhame.

Thoughts?

The Brewers will need Perez if Arcia can not hit over .200, if Holt can not hit lefties, if Thames is a disaster and Korea numbers don't translate or if Villar was a flash in the pan. One of the four is happening. LA would laugh at that trade offer. They may not due Perez for Stewart or Barnes even up.

Perez is also insurance in RF if Santana's shoulder flares up again. I suspect Counsell will have him in the lineup somewhere at least 5 games a week. Brewers see value there and aren't going to give him away. Dodgers could come calling at some point though.

Holt? I must have missed something, who is he? Or do you mean Shaw?
