IF Eric Sogard minor league deal with spring training invite

djoctagone
infielder eric sogard has signed a minor league deal with the brewers and will be in big league camp as a non-roster invitee. sogard has one minor league option remaining, so if the brewers select his contract to add him to the 25-man roster, he can later be optioned to the minor leagues in 2017.

Him and Garza in ST what could go wrong?...

My first thought as well (LINK: Matt Garza goes on Twitter tirade against Eric and Kaycee Sogard). If baseball had a version of HBO's NFL training camp series Hard Knocks, the Brewers would have a perfect storyline. Will Matt Garza once again "let his competitive edge out" on the Sogard family?

Not just “at Night” anymore.

sogard spent all of last season earning major league service time, but it was on the disabled list for the entire season. had he accrued a full season of service time with minimal time spent on the disabled list, his minor league contract would've required an opt-out date before the end of spring training.

sogard does not have an opt-out clause in his contract.
